The significant journey of the “SPU AI Spark Club” student team from the Faculty of Information Technology, Sripatum University (SPU), has become another testament to the power of the new generation. With courage, determination, and the right support, students can overcome their limitations and achieve success on a global stage in international technology and e-commerce competitions.

The potential of SPU students that the world needs to see!

The event they participated in was the “2025 Belt & Road and BRICS Competition of Skills Development and Technology Innovation – Track of E-commerce Operations Data Analysis Competition,” an international competition in E-commerce Intelligence and Data Analytics held in Hangzhou, People’s Republic of China, a global e-commerce hub brimming with cutting-edge technology and innovation.

In this competition, the student team presented their project, “Competition Project: The 3rd E-commerce Operation Data Analysis,” which involved intensive and systematic strategic data analysis in e-commerce.

This achievement won the 2nd Runner-up award, along with the Outstanding Instructor Award and the Outstanding Organization Award, bringing pride to Sripatum University on the global stage.

The beginning of success doesn’t come from perfect readiness, but from “the courage to start.” This student team explained that their key driving force was the desire to overcome fear, especially regarding language, and the ambition to go further than ever before. Small steps taken in the classroom that day became the gateway to the international stage today. During their work, the team began by brainstorming to find new perspectives and selecting appropriate data analytics and AI tools to ensure their ideas were practical for the competition.

The core of the project is transforming “data” into “stories” through the concept of Data Storytelling. The team doesn’t view numbers as mere raw data, but strives to uncover hidden insights, whether it’s consumer behavior, market trends, or business strategies. They integrate in-depth analysis with sophisticated storytelling, while AI is used as a tool to open up new perspectives by setting up various prompts to filter and distill the clearest and most distinctive insights.

This achievement was also made possible by the close support of my advisors, including Assoc. Prof. Masavee Masdisornchote, Head of the Computer Science Department, and Ms. Tiparun Khiaokaew, a faculty member in the department, who provided guidance and encouragement at every step. This reflects the teaching philosophy of SPU’s Faculty of Information Technology, which emphasizes “Learning by Doing,” providing students with opportunities to gain real-world experience, compete in real-world situations, and grow in reality. It also serves as an inspiration to higher education students, showing them that every success can begin at SPU, and that SPU can truly take everyone to the global stage!
