A significant achievement for students from the Faculty of Information Technology, Sripatum University (SPU), was achieved on an international stage at the “Market Supervision Service Innovation Application Competition” final round of the AI Skills Competition 2025 in Nanning, People’s Republic of China. The development team from the “SPU AI Spark Club” won two Popular Awards for their AI Assistant innovation, entirely designed and developed by the students themselves, impressing the judges and participants from various countries.
PathCortex: From study assignments to AI career planning.
The first award-winning project is “PathCortex,” a personalized computer skills development planning assistant. It originated from a classroom assignment about the AI Buddy concept, which students further developed into a tool to help plan IT learning tailored to each individual’s style and goals. The goal is to empower users to prepare for internships and plan their careers with greater clarity and direction.
Souschef: AI chef assistant for every home.
Another innovation is “Souschef,” an intelligent chef’s assistant designed to simplify cooking. Users simply input available ingredients, and the AI provides detailed recipe suggestions and cooking instructions, along with nutritional information calculations. This makes cooking easy, fun, and healthy all at the same time, reflecting the creative and tangible application of AI in daily life.
Behind the success of both projects lies the close support of expert professors who provided technical guidance, prepared data, trained presentation skills, helped design professional communication strategies, and offered encouragement at every stage. This instilled confidence in the students, encouraging them to think creatively, act boldly, and confidently step onto the global competition stage to their full potential.
Beyond the awards received, what students gain from being part of the “SPU AI Spark Club” is a space for true growth. This includes in-depth learning through training, hands-on development of AI into practical projects, and collaboration with peers who share a passion for technology.
This international competition is therefore another important opportunity for the club to help students embark on a professional career in technology.
All of this reflects the strengths of learning at SPU’s Faculty of Information Technology, which emphasizes Project-Based Learning from the first year. Students get to work on real-world projects, collaborate on challenges from the industry, and develop both hard skills such as programming, data analytics, and AI, along with essential soft skills for real-world work. It also inspires high school students, showing them that if they want to build their future with technology, SPU is the starting point that will propel them to a truly global level.
