Many of you probably share this dream… Today, SPU will introduce you to “Sasa – Saroch Chuenkum,” a senior student from the Faculty of Business Administration, Digital Marketing major, at Sripatum University. She’s the owner of the trendy jewelry brand “shaz.shawty,” and how she turned her passion for fashion into a six-figure income.
Love of dressing up + Market opportunity = Sasha jewelry brand.
The origins of the Sasa jewelry brand stemmed from both personal passion and a vision of a market opportunity. I’ve always enjoyed dressing up and taking photos. One day, before a birthday photoshoot, I wanted a necklace in a style I liked, but it was difficult to find online. That’s when I saw an opportunity in the market, and I decided to start an online store.

The most important thing is that product images must be beautiful, eye-catching, and clearly priced to make it easy for customers to decide. Another thing is that the product style must be unique and always on trend. The technique that led to my first sales exceeding 100,000 baht was importing vintage watches. At that time, the market was small and not yet a trend, so importing vintage watches made the product stand out and become a trend. The second time was selling “mystery jars of jewelry,” which was a trend at the time. Having popular influencers like Loma, Preemprom, Fluk Sri, and Nampaeng review the product created a buzz and significantly boosted sales.

Studying at SPU provides a solid foundation in business, especially in using AI to help write captions, design packaging, and manage tracking numbers more conveniently for customers. Furthermore, the SPU Faculty of Business Administration teaches students to observe customer behavior, understand what’s truly popular, because what we like may not be what customers want, and to stay up-to-date with trends, as customer behavior changes rapidly.

During my BUS/MKT course, we were given projects to analyze real-world markets, practice writing catchy phrases, and create slogans. This allowed me to apply what I learned to my brand, leading to better communication with customers and a much clearer brand identity.
Start small, start realistically, and capture customers' hearts step by step!
My sister Sasha advised me to start small and not make a big investment from the start. Initially, she bought less than 20 necklaces to test the market and see if people liked them. Then, she observed her customers to see what styles they preferred and what customer groups they belonged to, before gradually expanding her shop and growing.
What advice would you give to younger people who want to start a business?
