“Playing games” isn’t just for fun; it can actually become a real career path.
This is the story of “Jessica” Piya Kotianchai, a student majoring in Online Communication Design at the Faculty of Communication Arts, Sripatum University (Influencer Scholarship recipient 68). A true influencer and game streamer, she started as a kid who loved watching game streams and tried to imitate them, never thinking she’d reach this point. From small videos back then to millions of views today, what sets Jessica apart isn’t just “playing games,” but discovering her “identity” and developing it seriously. This interview will take you to see another side of the creator world.
My beginnings weren’t flashy. I was just a kid who “loved watching gaming videos,” especially on zbing z.’s channel. That small passion led me to start making my own videos like a kid, without caring about the views. “Back then, I did it because I genuinely enjoyed it. Whether the video became popular or not didn’t matter; I just wanted to do it.” But as time went on, with the arrival of TikTok, I became more serious about creating content, paying more attention to detail, and started a YouTube channel. Now, in 2026, I’m a game streamer with millions of followers and views.
The "turning point" that led to the channel's growth?
The key to my growth was discovering my “strength.” I started by doing voiceovers in my own style, and that became a distinctive characteristic that people recognized. “One video got 2.3 million views. That’s when I realized what people liked about me.” After that, I started developing content in my strengths, while adapting it to trends and current events.
Learn from real experts and get hands-on experience?
Studying in the Faculty of Communication Arts, majoring in Online Communication Design (OCM), wasn’t just about theory; it directly helped me in my work. In particular, the Public Speaking course helped me tell stories clearly, systematically, and engagingly. This course covered everything from structuring content from beginning to end to handling unexpected situations, such as microphone issues or stumbling over my words. As a result, all my videos are not only entertaining but also effectively tell stories.
