Sripatum University’s “Professional Personality Ready” Equips Fourth-Year Computer Science Students with Communication, Interview, and Professional Presentation Skills for Career Success
Strong programming skills can open doors, but confidence, communication, and professionalism help students make the most of those opportunities.
Recognizing that successful technology careers require more than technical expertise, the Computer Science and Software Development Innovation Program, School of Information Technology, Sripatum University, organized “Professional Personality Ready” for fourth-year students enrolled in CSI498.
The activity aimed to strengthen students’ professional confidence and prepare them for the transition from academic learning to the workplace.
During the session, the guest speaker shared practical guidance on professional appearance and workplace etiquette, confident communication and self-presentation, job interview preparation, and choosing appropriate attire for different professional situations.
These skills are particularly valuable for future software developers, whose responsibilities extend beyond writing code. Technology professionals must communicate technical ideas clearly, collaborate with colleagues, present their work, and demonstrate credibility when interacting with employers and stakeholders.
Job interviews are another important milestone. Students need to explain their knowledge, experiences, and capabilities in ways that help potential employers understand their strengths. Learning how to present themselves professionally can improve their preparation for these opportunities.
The initiative reflects SPU’s commitment to holistic student development by integrating technical education with essential interpersonal and career-readiness skills.
It supports SDG 4, Target 4.4, by developing competencies relevant to employment and professional careers. It also relates to SDG 8, Target 8.5, through preparation for future employment opportunities. However, the activity itself does not establish actual employment outcomes.
Sripatum University extends its appreciation to the guest speaker for sharing valuable knowledge and guidance that students can apply to their personal and professional development.
A successful software developer is not defined by coding ability alone, but also by the confidence to communicate, the professionalism to collaborate, and the readiness to grow.
CSI SPU — Great Code. Professional Confidence. Career Ready.
