IT SPU Strengthens Work-Integrated Learning as an IT Student Designs a Comprehensive Tool Management Platform with a Real-Time Dashboard for Intronic Co., Ltd.
In industrial operations, production tools play a vital role in maintaining quality and operational continuity. Managing equipment records, calibration schedules, maintenance activities, and borrowing transactions can become challenging when information is fragmented across different processes.
At Sripatum University’s School of Information Technology, cooperative education provides students with opportunities to address such real organizational challenges through practical technology development.
During a cooperative education supervision visit, Ajarn Jeerawan Rueksasut monitored the progress and professional learning of Ms. Chutikarn Phrombut, who was undertaking her workplace placement at Intronic Co., Ltd.
Her project, “Production Tool Management and Calibration Tracking System,” focuses on developing a centralized digital solution to support the management of production tools within the organization.
The system is designed to integrate several essential functions, including equipment information management, calibration tracking, maintenance records, and tool borrowing and returns. A real-time dashboard provides visibility into relevant information and equipment status, supporting more efficient monitoring and operational decision-making.
Beyond software development, the project demonstrates the importance of understanding actual workplace requirements and translating them into practical digital solutions. The student applies competencies in systems analysis, database management, user interface design, and problem-solving to an industrial setting.
The solution aims to simplify administrative procedures, reduce repetitive work, shorten processing time, and decrease reliance on external software. These potential benefits are consistent with the organization’s operational needs, although quantitative time and cost savings have not yet been reported.
The university’s cooperative education supervision also plays an important role by connecting academic guidance with professional practice, helping students reflect on their progress and strengthen the competencies required for future employment.
The initiative relates to SDG 4, Target 4.4, through the development of employment-relevant technical skills; SDG 8, Target 8.2, through technology-enabled approaches to productivity; and SDG 9, Target 9.5, through the application of digital innovation to industrial processes.
Meaningful technology education is not simply about writing code. It is about understanding real problems and creating solutions that make a difference in how organizations work.
Through its “Learn from Real Professionals, Gain Real Experience” philosophy, Sripatum University continues to empower students to transform academic knowledge into practical solutions while preparing for sustainable professional careers.
