SPU School of Information Technology opens hands-on AI learning that translates into employable skills through AWS Academy & Tech Alliance and ERT collaboration
Sripatum University’s School of Information Technology accelerated Future Skills for tech learners with “Gen AI Challenge 2026,” held on 14–15 September 2026 in collaboration with AWS Academy & Tech Alliance and The Enterprise Resources Training (ERT). The two‑day program enabled more than 200 students to dive into Generative AI and turn concepts into working prototypes.
Participants practiced Prompt Engineering and built applications using AWS PartyRock, a rapid prototyping tool that lowers the barrier to AI learning. Students iterated in real time, observed how prompts shape model behavior, and experienced an end‑to‑end workflow from idea to functional demo.
The event concluded with a Project Showcase where students presented solutions and exchanged ideas for real‑world application—gaining comprehensive experience across technical skills, communication, and design thinking. This academia–industry partnership provided access to industry‑grade platforms and reinforced SPU’s role in connecting classroom learning with practical technologies used by leading tech companies.
Clear outputs included student‑built AI prototypes addressing self‑selected problems, structured experimentation with models and prompts, and peer learning fostered by the challenge format. The Showcase strengthened confidence to apply GenAI in future projects and employment contexts.
“Gen AI Challenge 2026” demonstrates SPU’s commitment to making AI learning accessible through hands‑on training on tools students can use immediately, helping them stay work‑ready in a fast‑moving technology landscape and cultivate the mindset to build new innovations.
