Today we’re bringing you Nun, a first-class honors senior from the Faculty of Law, Sripatum University, who is working at a law firm called Baker & McKenzie Co., Ltd., which is the number one Inter Firm in Thailand. Anyone who wants to know the path to becoming a great lawyer and how to study to be good at it, come listen to Nun tell us!

Who are you?

Hello everyone. My name is Noon. I graduated from the Faculty of Law, Sripatum University, with first-class honors. Since I was a child, I dreamed of becoming a lawyer. So I chose to study at Sripatum University because my aunt recommended that Sripatum University has excellent law professors and many special professors are real judges. Therefore, if we study here, it will be easier for us to continue our studies at the Bar Association, thanks to the teaching methods of the professors at Sripatum University.

What is the heart of studying law?

I think the heart of studying law is patience because there are a lot of legal texts and legal contents. You have to read and memorize books to pass the exam. So you have to be very patient.

Honor students come here. Study hard. It's so easy!

The secret to being good at law is not difficult for those who are diligent and love reading. Some people are good at studying and have good memories, but if they are not diligent and do not pay attention, they will definitely not be able to compete with those who are diligent and patient.

SPU updates new laws to keep up with the times.

When I was studying law at Sripatum University, I mainly studied civil law, criminal law, civil procedure, and criminal procedure. The new laws at my time were intellectual property laws and laws according to various special acts.

Share the path of Thailand's No. 1 Inter Firm. How did it come about? Come read.

When I first graduated, I rushed to take the bar exam and the bar exam before becoming a lawyer and graduating from the bar exam at the age of 23. When I became a new lawyer, I took on the case work myself. It was a good time because there were a lot of cases to work on, so there was a lot of work. It was both stressful and fun at the same time.

But because I work as a lawyer, I had the opportunity to become a lawyer at Baker & McKenzie Co., Ltd., which is the number 1 Inter Firm in Thailand. The hourly fee is very high and the salary is also very high. But it is more tiring than normal work because the case structure is very large.

In the end, Phi Nun chose the middle path when a company approached her to become the Director of Litigation and Enforcement.
I am at the Vice President (VP) level, so I chose to move to Chetta Asia Co., Ltd. (Public Company Limited), where I am currently holding the position. Right now, I am happy with my life. I get more sleep (laughs).

How to relieve stress for law students

Studying law is stressful because we always feel like we can’t read fast enough. I would suggest that you don’t stress too much. Just read as much as you can. If we memorize with understanding, it will be easier to remember. The best way to relieve stress for me is to stop reading and go find something delicious to eat instead.

Is there anything you want to say to your juniors?

Studying law gives us an advantage over other fields because everywhere there must be laws. People who know the laws have an advantage. I want to tell all of you that studying law, we will definitely encounter stress because we have to read a lot of books. If you feel discouraged, take a break and then come back to it again. But believe me, the more we work hard, that means a good future for us in working in law in a good position. I would like to ask those who have chosen to study this path not to be discouraged. Fight until you succeed. I would like to encourage you.
