I graduated with a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Accounting from Sripathum University. I work in auditing. I am currently working at Pitisevi Company Limited.
I would like to tell the juniors who want to work in auditing that the main things that are required are determination and adaptability to the environment, as it is a job that requires frequent travel to meet clients, each of whom is diverse, as well as fairly hard work. However, the rewards are enough to compensate for the hard work to some extent. Second is basic knowledge of Excel, accounting, and taxes, which must be used in the work.
If you want to work in this field, you can’t avoid talking about taking the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) exam. Becoming a CPA is the main goal of many people in the accounting field because once you get it, it will open up many career opportunities. Many people may ask how they should divide their time to study to prepare to become a CPA if they are working in auditing. I have one very important piece of advice: have discipline in studying regularly. If we focus on studying for just 1 hour a day, I believe we can pass the CPA exam within the time limit set by the professional council (4 years). (I’m not very good at it, I just tried hard so I could do it within that time frame.) But as I said, you don’t need to be good at it to work in this field.
Let me conclude by saying that even though auditing work is hard, we gain a lot during the work because we get to mingle with the various businesses of the clients we audit and encounter various issues, which broadens our knowledge and gives us a broader understanding that we can apply to the future. For those who are truly determined to work in this field, I would like to say that it is not beyond our abilities. I am rooting for you.
