A person’s age is counted from the year of birth. Then, how is the statute of limitations calculated?

The statute of limitations is an important thing that all lawyers should be aware of. Do not forget it, or else it will be considered # expired.

# Statute of limitations ” = is the period of time specified by law for filing a lawsuit and bringing the offender to court within how many days, months, or years. If the lawsuit is filed and the offender is brought to court after the specified period, it is considered that the lawsuit has expired.

# The statute of limitations has expired ” = # You cannot sue because # The right to bring a criminal case is suspended. If you force a lawsuit, the court will give a judgment. # Dismissed

Q: How do you calculate the statute of limitations?
A: The length of the statute of limitations depends primarily on the statutory penalty for each offence (usually the penalty is specified at the end of the section of the offence), as follows:

20 years for offences punishable by death, life imprisonment or 20 years imprisonment, such as the crime of rebellion punishable by death, the case must be filed within the 20-year statute of limitations.

15 years for offenses punishable by imprisonment of more than 7 years but less than 20 years, such as the offense of being an official who performs his duties improperly, punishable by imprisonment from 1 year to 10 years, and the case must be filed within the statute of limitations of 15 years.

10 years for offenses punishable by imprisonment of more than 1 year to 7 years, such as theft, punishable by imprisonment of not more than 3 years, must file a lawsuit within the 10-year statute of limitations.

5 years for offenses punishable by imprisonment of more than 1 month to 1 year, such as the offense of insulting an official, punishable by imprisonment of no more than 1 year, the case must be filed within the statute of limitations of 5 years.

1 year for an offense punishable by imprisonment of 1 month or less, or other punishments, such as the offense of firing a gun without cause in a city, village, or public road, punishable by imprisonment not exceeding 10 days. The case must be filed within the statute of limitations of 1 year.
