IT SPU leads digital trends, organizes Upskill/Reskill training with 3 government agencies

IT SPU leads the digital trend! Collaborates with 3 government agencies: Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education (OHEC), Big Data Institute, and Digital Government Personnel Development Institute (TDGA), Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization), to jointly upgrade skills and produce new-age personnel to meet the needs of AI & IoT, Data Science, and Digital Literacy.
Preparing civil servants to fully enter the digital government with a Bachelor of Engineering program in Computer Engineering, creating a new generation of engineers to support the growth of future technologies, reinforcing SPU’s IT leadership by Upskilling/Reskilling in all dimensions, ready to drive the country into a sustainable digital era.

1. New Generation Graduate Production Project, Degree Program, Course Name: Create a new generation of engineers who are experts in AI, IoT and Digital Skills technology for developing smart solutions in the digital world (Bachelor of Engineering, Computer Engineering Program) in collaboration with the Office of the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Higher Education (OHEC)

Faculty of Information Technology, Sripatum University, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission, has developed the curriculum “ Next-Gen Engineers: AI, IoT and Digital Skills for Smart Solutions ” (Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Engineering) to create “new-generation engineers” who are experts in AI , IoT and Digital Skills, ready to meet the needs of the manufacturing and industrial sectors in the New S-Curve era, in accordance with the Thai Higher Education Reform Policy 2025.

The highlight of the curriculum is the co-designed curriculum with partner agencies from both the public and private sectors, such as the Thai IoT Association (TIoT), AIAT, MFEC, and TDGA, focusing on upskilling/reskilling AI and IoT skills for practical application through the Non-Degree Certificates model of three courses:

  1. Connected Intelligence: AIoT in Action – Focus on connecting IoT and AI technologies
  2. Mastery AI: The Next-Gen Skill Booster – Aiming to elevate learners to become experts in AI
  3. Digital Technology Skills for Next-Gen – Develop digital skills covering Data Governance, Cybersecurity and Digital Service

All courses are designed according to the “Skill Gap” framework that the industry really needs, emphasizing practical training (Hands-On) with partner companies, including a Credential system to certify competencies that are accepted by the industry, such as “Certified IoT Specialist” or “AI Data Analyst”, so that graduates are ready to use and meet the needs of future technologies.

2. Project to enhance and upgrade intermediate-level skills in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications in collaboration with the Big Data Institute (Public Organization)

The Faculty of Information Technology, Sripatum University, in collaboration with the Big Data Institute (Public Organization) to develop personnel with skills in analyzing and managing big data, as well as applying artificial intelligence (AI) technology to support market demands in the digital age, is open to higher education institutions (both public and private) to apply for training funding of up to 1 million baht. The standard curriculum will cover the essentials of Big Data management, Machine Learning Algorithms, and programming on the Spark platform, and trainees must have passed or have basic knowledge of Data Science.

Intermediate Data Science Course Highlights (5 days)

  • Big Data Management: Definition, Features and Related Technologies (Hadoop, Spark)
  • Machine Learning Algorithms: Understand algorithms such as Deep Learning, K-Means and their applications to big data.
  • Big Data Analytics & Programming: Practice programming and analyzing real data through the Spark Ecosystem.
  • Measurement and Certificate: Assessment through Quiz, Assignment, Post-test and certificate is issued to students who pass the criteria.

3. Central training course project for digital skills development for civil servants and government personnel to transform into a digital government (under the Digital Government Integration Plan) in collaboration with the Digital Government Personnel Development Institute (TDGA), Digital Government Development Agency (Public Organization)

Faculty of Information Technology, Sripatum University, in collaboration with the Digital Government Personnel Development Institute (TDGA), launched a training program called Understanding and Using Digital Technology (DGA101) aimed at upgrading digital skills for civil servants and government personnel to support the transition to digital government. The course covers 30 hours of intensive content, with a total of 3 training sessions from August to September 2025.

Outstanding training content and activities

  • Computer and Digital Device Fundamentals : Learn and practice basic hardware and software usage, file management, and data backup and recovery principles.
  • Internet and Online Searching : Practice using search engines, techniques for assessing the credibility of information sources, and learn how to use social media for collaboration.
  • Cloud Computing and Online Collaboration : Practice using Cloud Storage systems to store and share documents, learn about video conferences and real-time collaborative work.
  • Digital Media Creation : Learn photo editing, video editing, basic website development and digital PR creation.
  • Cybersecurity and Digital Law : Be aware of threats, preventive measures such as setting up firewalls, malware protection, and using secure networks, as well as related ethics and laws.

This course is an important opportunity for civil servants and government personnel to enhance their comprehensive digital skills, ready to cope with the future transformation to digital government.
