Day 2 of the SOAR Programme 2026 continued under the theme, “Advanced AI Research, Simulation Environments, and Applied Intelligent Systems in Thailand,” as the School of Entrepreneurship, Sripatum University, brought 44 students and 3 lecturers from Ngee Ann Polytechnic, Singapore to the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) for a full day of academic and research exposure.
Academic & Research Engagement at AIT
The programme began with an introduction by Mr. Hoang Minh “Thomas” Nguyen, followed by welcome remarks and research highlights from Prof. Nitin Kumar Tripathi, Faculty of Advanced Science and Technology, AIT.
Participants also learned more about AIT’s academic opportunities from Ms. Alistina Shrestha and were introduced to the AIT School of Professional Intelligence by Mr. Zia Islam.
AI, Ethics & Emerging Technologies
The day’s featured lecture on Explainable Data Science and AI Ethics by Dr. Sein Minn enriched students’ understanding of responsible and applied AI, followed by an engaging Q&A session.
Laboratory Visits & Innovation Exposure
In the afternoon, students visited the AI & Simulation Lab, Bio Nano Lab, Robotics & IoT Lab, and Sign Language Lab, gaining valuable exposure to interdisciplinary research, intelligent systems, and emerging technologies in practice.

Through this visit, students deepened their understanding of how advanced research, innovation, and real-world applications are connected within an international academic environment.
