The engineering students of Sripatum University would like to thank the Italian-Thai Industrial Center for the opportunity to provide first-year students with experience in railway systems for the fourth consecutive year.
In April 2022, Assistant Professor Dr. Chavalit Maneesri, Director of the Center for Continuing Education in Engineering, Sripatum University, led 43 first-year students in the Railway Engineering program to visit the Italian-Thai Industrial Center, which manufactures various products to support construction projects of Italian-Thai Development Public Company Limited. During this visit, students were able to experience and gain access to a variety of materials and machinery used in large-scale construction projects, including heavy-lift ships and pile-driving ships for marine construction, as well as construction lifting equipment and cranes for high-rise building construction, as well as many other types of specialized tools. Most of the tools and machinery are stored at the Machinery Maintenance Center.
On an area of several hundred rai in Wihan Daeng District, Saraburi Province, there is a factory producing turnout wrenches (ATO-ASIA TURNOUT), a prestressed concrete casting factory (Concrete Sleeper), a factory producing and repairing train wheels (J.1627), and a long track welding factory (ASIAN RAIL COMPANY LIMITED), with Mr. Chit Lewan, ASVP, welcoming us, giving a lecture, and taking care of us warmly throughout the study visit.
