Mr. Kecha Thirakomen graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical Engineering) from Chulalongkorn University in 1975. He is currently the Chairman of the Executive Board of EEC Group. He is an expert in design innovation, consulting, and personnel development under the EEC Academy in the fields of air conditioning, fire protection, and building systems engineering, which has been internationally recognized. He has many notable works, such as the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center, Suvarnabhumi Airport Building, Oriental Hotel, Bangkok Government Center, buildings and train stations, as well as works abroad, such as the People’s Republic of China, Japan, the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, and the United Arab Emirates.
Academic works, engineering textbooks, including fire safety standards, air conditioning and ventilation standards, engineering professional practice standards, mechanical engineer handbooks, building technology, and numerous academic articles published in both domestic and international journals, as well as dedication to the benefit of society by participating in the establishment and management of many professional associations, such as the Air Conditioning Engineering Association of Thailand, the Thai Association of Mechanical and Electrical Consulting Engineers, the Thai Green Building Institute, the Council of Engineers, and the Engineering Institute of Thailand under Royal Patronage, until being recognized internationally and receiving important honorary awards, such as Outstanding Engineer in Energy Conservation, Ministry of Science, 1998, Quality Person of the Year 2010 by the Foundation of the Science and Technology Council of Thailand, the international honorary award, ASHRAE Fellow Award from ASHRAE, USA, in 2009.
With his work in initiating, creating and developing engineering works that are of great benefit to society and the country, as well as his dedication to society, which is evident both domestically and internationally, the Sripatum University Council has unanimously resolved to grant an honorary Doctor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering to Mr. Kecha Thirakomen for continued honor.
