“Hydraulic Mobile Water Pump” Thai innovation in the world-class water pump industry

“Hydraulic Mobile Water Pump” Thai innovation in the world-class water pump industry
Another great story from Dr. Kiatsak Sakulphan, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Innovation, Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, who successfully conducted research on the development of a “portable hydraulic water pump” and received Thai innovation registration, ready to be put into practice in urban water management in government projects.
The origin of this success is the determination and the vision of a gap in the market that stimulated the idea and created an opportunity to upgrade the Thai water pump industry to be able to pump large water by itself without having to import from abroad.
With the intention of using the knowledge gained from research and study to maximize the benefits of the industry and the country, and to be able to solve engineering problems in the country, this research on the development of a mobile hydraulic water pump was born with the support of the president, including the dean and faculty of the Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, until it became a work that can be used in real industry.
And with the support of the industry sector, such as Nampol Intertrade Co., Ltd., which provided academic support to Sripatum University and provided the first lump sum of 4.25 million baht for the purchase of 4 high-performance computers, including the copyright of the ready-made program in fluid dynamics engineering (ANSYS CFX), which is a program recognized by academics worldwide, for use in studying and analyzing the shape of water pump impellers to achieve the desired efficiency, resulting in a prototype that has been registered as a Thai innovation and has been used in the management of urban water in many government projects, including bringing some of this research to students to be projects and research topics in academic conferences within the university and outside the university, creating fame and pride for both alumni and current students.
Let’s give another round of applause for the success of Dr. Kiatsak Sakulphan, a lecturer at the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Industrial Innovation, Faculty of Engineering, who has opened up opportunities for Thais to be able to produce large water pumps by themselves, without having to import them from abroad, at a reasonable price and for widespread use.
