For studying engineering, success comes purely from hard work.
The message conveyed by Nong Adisak Rungsuwan, a student of the Department of Civil Engineering and Urban Development, Faculty of Engineering, who recently received the 1st Runner-up Outstanding Researcher Award in Engineering at the 4th National Fit Conference on May 27, 2022. The research topic this time is a cooperative project on “Comparison of Productivity Assessment Methods in Brick and Plaster Work”. The work will be selected for publication in academic journals.
We wanted to know the background and history before receiving this award. We therefore did not miss the opportunity to invite a talented student to share his experience and tell us about the project.
Briefly introduce yourself and why you chose to study engineering.
Name: Mr. Adisak Rungsuwan. Studying in the field of Civil Engineering and Urban Development. The reason I came to study engineering is because I think it is a challenging career with wide-open opportunities to have a good job, good income. And because I studied in a professional field, construction, and received a vocational certificate, a higher vocational certificate. When I found out that Sripatum University offered a bachelor’s degree program that accepted a higher vocational certificate, I did not hesitate to give myself an opportunity for advancement in a stable dream career.
Inspiration for choosing to do such research topic in the cooperative project
The reason I am interested in this topic is from my class in Construction Cost Estimation and Construction Planning, which made me discover that there are very few productivity values to use as references in current studies, and in some stages of construction there is no such data to use as references at all. Therefore, I had the idea to do such a project to benefit future students.
Obstacles encountered along the way, share techniques for solving them.
In the initial research phase, the most common problems were in finding information to calculate various productivity values in order to interpret the information. However, due to the care and attention given by the advisors who provided good advice and assistance, the research went smoothly.
What advice would you like to give to the students who are interested in applying to study engineering at Sripathum University ?
I would like to tell you that determination and intention are the key to successful learning. For engineering studies, intelligence comes purely from hard work. Therefore, I would like to invite you who are interested in studying this field to do whatever you do, do it for real, and have self-discipline in order to get a good job and be able to truly use what you do, in line with the slogan of this place: Learn difficult things and make them easy and practical.
Do you have anything to tell the teachers at some faculties?
Thank you to all the teachers who helped support and push me to present this article. It is an honor and pride and encouragement for me to develop my potential and skills in future work.
The group would like to congratulate and express our appreciation for the success of Mr. Adisak Rungsuwan, a student of the Department of Civil Engineering and Urban Development, Faculty of Engineering, once again.
