At today’s event, Assistant Professor Dr. Rawipha Akarajindanon, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration, gave a welcoming speech to the Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Trade Negotiations, Ministry of Commerce, Ms. Bunika Chamsai, who kindly gave a lecture.
In the topic: The importance of FTAs to Thai exports
Free Trade Agreement or Free Trade Area is an economic grouping with the aim of reducing tariffs within the group to the lowest level or 0% and using higher normal tariffs with countries outside the group.
Benefits of establishing a free trade agreement (FTA)
– Create trade and investment partnerships
– Increase competitiveness
– Expand investment opportunities
– Create economic cooperation
– Attract foreign investment
– Increase the value of trade between member countries.
– Increase export opportunities in new markets and expand existing markets.

In addition, the Deputy Director-General also mentioned the status of Thailand’s Free Trade Agreements (FTA) which are now in effect (14 agreements, 18 countries), such as Thailand’s FTA with

TCFTA. Chile, AFTA. ASEAN and ASEAN ACFTA China, AIFTA India, AJCEP Japan, AKFTA South Korea AANZFTA Australia New Zealand AHKFTA Hong Kong, RCEP ASEAN+5 (China Japan South Korea Australia New Zealand)
FTA and Thai trade opportunities, expanding economic trade opportunities, protecting and maintaining economic benefits, generating income, creating jobs, and economic growth.
