Facebook Look alike
By Assistant Professor Dr. Anupong Awiruttha
Expanding your customer base on Facebook can help you send product or business information to these groups of people through Facebook Look alike.
Facebook Look alike is a tool for shooting ads or shooting video posts to target groups.
By letting Facebook help create groups of people who have similar characteristics to our database or our existing customer base, we create groups of people with similar behaviors, preferences, and target groups to people on our fan page in order to expand our customer base.
The use of Facebook Look alike tools can be applied and integrated with a business website by working together with Facebook Pixel (Facebook Pixel is a code for being placed on a website to make Facebook aware of it). When buying advertising, Facebook will do Remarketing or use the information collected from the website to determine the target group of who you want the ad to be displayed to.
Or you can combine it with using it in E-Mail Marketing by letting Facebook help create Look alike groups of people who have similar characteristics to the owner of your E-mail to search on Facebook.
The general steps for advertising on Facebook are as follows:
1. Create a campaign to tell the purpose of what you want to advertise. For example, promote a page, promote a post, promote a video or send people to a website.
2. Set Advert Set or Advertisement Set This point is considered the most important point in advertising because the Advert Set will determine who the target group is, how much the advertising budget is, how long the advertising period is, what days to do and when to stop.
3. Advertising by posting and selecting the post you want to advertise or the video you want to advertise.
The steps that Facebook Look alike is involved in are… Step 2 is to set up the Advert Manager by going to set up Audiences to set the target group and select “Similar target groups”. The important thing is…
Specify the source as our Facebook page name. If the target group is Thai people, enter the country as Thailand (TH) (depending on the customer group) and determine the size of the target group by selecting the 1% to 10% (the lower the % value = the smaller the target group, but it meets the needs).
However, you have to wait for Facebook to consider and approve before you can create an ad as usual by setting the target group.
Trip….Check the advertising results by comparing CTR (Click Through Rate) between normal advertising and advertising from Facebook Look alike to measure the advertising efficiency and value.
