Assistant Professor Dr. Kalyarat Thirathanachaikul, Head of the Department of Modern Management and Administration , Faculty of Business Administration, Sripatum University (SPU), Academic Services to Society, was invited by the College of Management Innovation, Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage (VRU) to be a speaker to share knowledge on the topic of Strategic Management for the Elderly Service Business via the online ZOOM format to participants in the project to develop new graduates and competent workforce to meet the needs of the manufacturing sector according to the policy of reforming Thai higher education under the curriculum to enhance skills in the management of elderly service businesses organized by Valaya Alongkorn Rajabhat University under the Royal Patronage from 08.30-16.30 hrs. during 27-28 April 2023.
Assistant Professor Dr. Kalyarat Thirathanachaikul said that there are currently many private elderly service centers that have been legally certified. Importantly, the service fees are not too expensive. The elderly service center has a role and duty as a place related to caring for the elderly. For families who do not have enough time to take care of the elderly in the family, they can bring their elderly to receive services from the elderly service center as needed.
However, not being able to or not having enough time to take care of the elderly at home does not mean that those families are bad people and do not love the elderly in the home. However, we must first understand that sometimes the elderly may have illnesses or conditions that require special care, such as Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, patients who need physical therapy, etc. If the family does not have enough knowledge and understanding of the medical conditions related to those symptoms or cannot allocate time to help take care of the elderly at this point, it will cause difficulties in the elderly’s lives and may have a worse impact on the elderly. Therefore, elderly service centers are important and necessary. They are also the best for families who cannot take care of the elderly by themselves.
