Managing an accounting office for sustainable growth

I graduated with a Master of Accountancy and am currently studying for a Doctor of Philosophy in Accountancy at the Faculty of Accountancy, Sripatum University. I am currently the owner of an accounting office certified by the Department of Business Development, Ministry of Commerce, as a quality accounting office, a digital accounting office, and certified by the Business Governance Standards.
I started to learn and gain experience in accounting and auditing since I was a bachelor’s degree student at an accounting firm. Since I am a person who has difficulty understanding and have to listen to things many times before I understand, I found a way for myself by working a lot and doing it repeatedly until I knew for myself that accounting is in a square frame. No matter how hard I run, I will hit the frame because there are accounting standards for us to follow and theories for us to practice. I also learned further that accounting is actually an art.
I used to open an accounting office in Bangkok. I had to move back to my home province of Ubon Ratchathani to take care of tax accounting for businesses in other provinces. Many businesses did not understand accounting and tax laws, which made their operations not reflect the true business image. For this reason, I had to give advice to clients and provide clear and correct knowledge. This made me think of developing myself by studying accounting to gain more knowledge. I chose Sripathum University, a famous private university. My seniors gave me advice and assistance, and the teachers were friendly. The world of education opened up during my studies. After completing my Master of Accountancy, I thought of opening a digital accounting office. I set a goal and started doing it right away. As a result, my company won an award in the company’s first competition.
At present, we have expanded our team to take care of the offices in Lopburi and Bangkok. This made me think again that I should study more in accounting in order to develop the organization and the team to be even better. Therefore, I decided to apply for a doctorate degree in accounting. When I started studying, my vision became broader. I thought that I wanted the company to have good corporate governance, which would be a company with good management, fairness, transparency, emphasizing participation, and responsibility. This would result in a strong business, sustainable growth, and would make everyone trust the organization. Therefore, I applied for a certificate of corporate governance standards from the Department of Business Development by following the criteria tested by the board of directors. My company passed the criteria and received a certificate of corporate governance standards.
I am proud that my accounting profession has played a part in helping entrepreneurs understand accounting, taxes, and the overall direction of their own businesses in order to manage them so that their business can continue to grow and prosper. I am proud that the staff in the organization have developed and grown together.
To get to this point, not only do I have a clear goal, determination, perseverance, but I also love, believe in, and trust in what I have done. I can do it, and I believe that all of you can do it too.
