Never stop learning and developing yourself, leading to your goal of success.

I graduated with a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Accounting from Sripatum University. I believe that all of you have gone through the process of choosing a faculty to study. Why did you choose Accounting? For me, I believe in information from Google. Haha. I searched for “future careers that are not unemployed” and found that Accounting is in the top 10 of every website. I also studied information about each career. Plus, my high school guidance teacher recommended that “If you choose to study Accounting, choose a university that has an Accounting faculty, not just an Accounting major. It will focus more on being more specialized.”

When I was a bachelor’s degree student, I was an active student in the faculty. I want to tell you that it’s very good. Doing activities with a large group of people makes us disciplined, have more friends, and practice patience. Later, when I finished my bachelor’s degree, I continued on to a master’s degree because I felt like I wanted to learn more and continue studying. Moreover, I got to exchange work life with seniors who were also studying master’s degrees. After graduating, they helped each other exchange knowledge.

The beginning of work
My first job was as a payment accountant at Pacific Pipe Public Company Limited, which was the first time I started using SAP. I had to learn a lot of T-Code terminology. I had to take notes, or to put it in modern terms, “take as many screenshots as possible.”
Later, I moved to work at Berli Jucker Public Company Limited as a Controller, analyzing and making cash flow. I used the SAP program. While working, I would like to tell all of you that IT is important, especially using Excel. The more data and numbers you have, the more tools you need to use in Excel. The more tools you know how to use or formulae in your work, in addition to saving time, you will also reduce errors.
Currently, I work for True Corporation Plc. in the cash receiving department. Using SAP, I have seen the importance of tax awareness regarding the required Withholding Tax (WHT) documents.
In addition, I think that what accountants should always update is how to use technology in their work and never stop learning. Another thing is that adapting to society is important because in our working life, we have to communicate with many people, both other departments and customers. Therefore, we must be ready to learn, adapt and change ourselves according to time and place.

What I want to tell my juniors
Try to join the training activities organized by the faculty, whether it’s tax knowledge, accounting knowledge, and Excel usage. Trust me, you’ll be able to use it in your real working life. Another project of the faculty that I’d like to recommend to you is the Professional Accounting Center or SPAC, which uses ready-made accounting programs to give you an advantage when applying for jobs. For you who are about to graduate and are still hesitating about going on an internship at a company, I’d like to recommend that you “really should” because you’ll be living like an employee for 4 months. Also, when you graduate, you can write all your experiences and activities on your resume, and I’m sure that you’ll be chosen to succeed. For me, working life is about creating goals and aspirations for the future. Keep fighting! I believe that your family is waiting to see your success. I’m rooting for you! ^^
