SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being โดยเฉพาะ SDG 3.3 Collaborations and health services, SDG 3.3.1 Current collaborations with health institutions และ SDG 3.3.2 Health outreach programmes

SPU and the Metropolitan Health and Wellness Institution Equip 120 Students and Staff with Practical BLS–AED Lifesaving Skills

On 18 June 2026, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., the Metropolitan Health and Wellness Institution, Department of Health, conducted the 14th “Basic Life Support (BLS) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Training Programme” for 120 students from the School of Digital Media and staff of Sripatum University. The programme was held at the Auditorium, 9th Floor, Sripatum University Dspace, with Mr. Surasak Sapperm, Director of the Student Affairs Division, presiding over the opening ceremony.

When sudden cardiac arrest occurs, time matters. This training therefore went beyond classroom instruction. Participants combined theoretical learning with hands-on practice using CPR training manikins, developing essential knowledge of basic life support and the appropriate use of an AED to strengthen their readiness to respond to emergencies.

The sight of students and staff practising side by side reflected a university culture in which people are prepared to care for one another. The collaboration with a public health institution also demonstrates a practical contribution to SDG 3: Good Health and Well-being, particularly SDG 3.3 Collaborations and health services, SDG 3.3.1 Current collaborations with health institutions, and SDG 3.3.2 Health outreach programmes.

The value of this one-day programme extends beyond knowledge gained in the training room. Practical lifesaving skills can remain with every participant and may become critically important when someone nearby faces a life-threatening emergency.

SPU continues to develop graduates and personnel who are not only professionally capable, but also ready to use their knowledge and skills to care for others—because one prepared person can help give another person a chance to survive.
