The Faculty of Engineering organized the “We need you” project to meet with parents of students in the 57th class who have a GPA of less than 2.00 to explain and find ways to promote, care for, and solve problems so that students can develop their learning and graduate as engineers as they wish.
Within the activity, seniors were invited to share their experiences and ideas that were very impressive. One senior, ID 40 (currently a PhD student and a school director in Saraburi Province) and another who had just graduated. The point is that these two, while studying engineering at Sripathum University, were quite up and down…
The first one intended to study for a Bachelor of Engineering but couldn’t do it and had to transfer to study for a Bachelor of Engineering until he graduated because he was inspired by his family’s hopes… The other one spent his first year in a shambles, his GPA dropped to 1.50 but he changed his mind in time with his mother’s encouragement, which gave him the determination to graduate in the end… In fact, there are quite a few students who come to study engineering at Sripatum University who do not have enough foundation to study in the engineering program (graduated from vocational schools, vocational certificates, higher vocational certificates, or high schools in the arts stream like me), which is different from students at state universities who were carefully selected from the entrance exams… Therefore, those who were able to study and graduate with engineering degrees from Sripatum University have similar feelings, a sense of pride and happiness that cannot be described… because even though we are not outstandingly talented, we can still step out into society without any shame.
