Thai transport ready to develop ..
July 14, 2016
The country’s transportation operators number approximately 300,000, 99 percent of which are small operators (yes, 99 percent) who play an important role in the country’s transportation and logistics system. They must be prepared for the changes and fierce competition in the current era (changing transportation modes, changing consumer society, advanced IT technology, competition from multinational operators, and the AEC era). Knowledge and understanding of the system and standard operating processes will be able to reduce costs and increase the competitive potential of Thai operators.
The Faculty of Engineering presented the “Transportation Energy Management System (TEMS)” that had been developed to more than 100 academics and consultants on transportation and logistics systems on July 14, 2016, for use in trial operations at 100 transportation establishments as part of the demonstration project for energy management systems in the transportation sector, operated by the Institute of Industrial Energy, Federation of Thai Industries, with the Energy Policy and Planning Office, Ministry of Energy, as the project owner.
