Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University guarantees the quality of success with more than half a century of teaching experience under the concept of “Simply Significant”, an important force driving success with cooperation from professional engineering professors who are ready to be an important force in pushing the potential of students to succeed by allowing students to study engineering with in-depth knowledge! Really know! Really practice! Through the most modern tools and laboratories to become real engineers in the engineering industry.
If you are one of those who don’t know where to study engineering, but want to study engineering, want to take an engineering exam, or are looking for an engineering scholarship, whether it’s studying civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, railway engineering, etc., let’s get to know a little bit about the Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, and you’ll know that deciding to apply to study engineering at Sripatum University is the best choice.
The Faculty of Engineering originated from the Polytechnic Faculty, which was granted permission to be established as the first faculty at the same time as the establishment of Sripathum College on May 28, 1970. In the early stages, it was opened to teach according to the Higher Vocational Certificate (Vocational Certificate) curriculum, including 4 subjects: Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Construction Engineering, which took 2 years to study. Later in 1987, the University Affairs Office granted permission to open the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) curriculum in Electrical Engineering, which took 4 years to study, which is the bachelor’s degree level. The status was raised from a college to Sripathum University. Therefore, the Polytechnic Faculty changed its name to be in line with the educational status as the Faculty of Engineering, since December 18, 1987 until the present.
The Faculty of Engineering has been developing academically rapidly and continuously. It offers undergraduate programs, accepting students who have completed high school (Mathayom 6) and higher vocational certificates (P.W.S.) to study in the Bachelor of Engineering programs in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Engineering, and Railway Engineering. All programs of the Faculty of Engineering have been certified by the Office of the Higher Education Commission, Ministry of Education, and the Office of the Civil Service Commission (O.C.S.C.) has certified the degree, giving graduates equal status and rights to graduates from state universities in all respects. In addition, the Council of Engineers has certified the program in the field of controlled engineering, allowing graduates to apply for a professional engineering license as desired.
1989
It offers courses in the Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) program in Electronic Engineering and the Bachelor of Industrial Engineering (B.I.I.) program in Electrical Engineering, which are 4-year and 2-year programs, respectively.
1990
The program offers three additional courses in the Industrial Engineering program: Electronic Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Construction Engineering. The program also offers one more course in the Mechanical Engineering program.
1993
All majors’ curricula have been revised to be up-to-date and in line with new technologies, and the Bachelor of Engineering program in Civil Engineering has been introduced. At the same time, all vocational certificate programs have been cancelled.
1996 and 1999
All subjects have been revised to comply with the requirements of the Engineering Professional Council (EPC).
2000 AD
Opened for teaching in the Bachelor of Engineering program, Industrial Engineering major
2003
Opened for teaching in the Bachelor of Engineering program in Mechatronics and improved the curriculum in all fields of study to be in line with the requirements of the Council of Engineers. Organized teaching and research in important engineering fields consisting of 5 departments and 1 research center, namely the Department of Electrical Engineering, Department of Mechanical Engineering, Department of Civil Engineering, Department of Industrial Engineering, Department of Mechatronics, Engineering Research and Experiment Center.
2006
The Faculty of Engineering has opened two more majors: Automotive Engineering and Electrical and Mechanical Engineering.
2012 – Present
The Faculty of Engineering has been continuously developing, keeping pace with the changes in modern industry. It has added groups of expertise in Robotics and Automatic Control Engineering (in the Electrical Engineering program) and Logistics Engineering (in the Industrial Engineering program). It has launched a railway engineering program in collaboration with a leading institution in China. It has improved the modern automotive engineering program to respond to the future industries that are the driving force of the country’s economy, as well as collaborating with Griffith University in Australia to create a dual-degree civil engineering program from two institutions. In addition, it has collaborated with the business sector, industry, and a wide network of engineering professionals to make teaching and learning from difficult subjects easy, by real people with real experiences.
At present, all programs of the Faculty of Engineering have been certified by the University Council, the Civil Service Commission (CSC) and the Teachers’ Council of Thailand (TCT) and have certified their degrees, enabling graduates to take the civil service exam. In addition, the Council of Engineers has certified programs in the field of controlled engineering, and graduate engineers can apply for an engineering license. Since the beginning, there were not many students studying engineering. The Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, has grown continuously until it has become a leading engineering faculty in Thailand. Many people apply to study engineering, whether it is civil engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, railway engineering, etc., until it has become generally accepted at the international level. There are many qualified permanent and special lecturers. In one year, the Faculty of Engineering can produce a large number of graduates who study engineering in various fields of quality for government and private agencies.
Throughout the development, despite various factors that are obstacles and difficulties in organizing education due to economic and other fluctuations, but with the cooperation of personnel and alumni of every generation, the Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, has been able to move forward continuously and steadily. The results of the determination and diligence in studying without giving up on difficulties and the perseverance in pursuing a career of the senior students until they succeed are all good examples that the current students should be aware of and follow because these things make all Sripatum engineers learn the value of patience, sacrifice and responsibility towards their duties, making them graduate engineers who are valuable to society and are the honor of Sripatum University forever and ever.
