and the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Sripathum University, by Asst. Prof. Dr. Phaichit Phawan
Reduce manpower by 50% – Increase production capacity to the next level
Support robot technology in future construction systems
Through research results , construction materials, Wall Solution and Lay & Go products
This is another important success from the collaboration between the business and academic sectors, VT Innovative Alliances Co., Ltd. and the Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, Sripatum University, by Asst. Prof. Dr. Paichit Phawan.
The starting point for developing the Lay&Go blocks came from an assessment of the future situation in the construction business, where labor costs will increase and labor will be hard to find. In many countries, robots have begun to be used to replace human labor in construction. This is because the blocks are designed to be easier, to the point where robots can help with construction. We have collaborated with the Thai-German Institute (TGI) to develop robots with special tools and a Flipper that may be different from robots that pick up general workpieces, as well as a concrete pourer for use in this type of construction.
This project must be said to be a turning point for the future construction industry in Thailand because the use of robots is considered a revolution in the construction industry. Many countries, both in Europe and the United States, have begun to use robots in the construction system to solve the problem of labor shortage and wages.
Lay & Go blocks are the result of research and development by two civil engineering experts, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tortrakul Yamnak and Asst. Prof. Dr. Phaichit Phawan, which took more than 10 years until they reached Version 20, which can be produced on an industrial scale by VT Innovative Alliance or VTIA, under a new production system that allows continuous production (Automation) by Dr. Chalothorn Lotharukphong, a key person who oversees and is responsible for the production line.
Let’s give a big round of applause to all the staff for another achievement in the civil engineering industry in Thailand.
