⚓️ The Amerigo Vespucci, an Italian junk ship that has been dubbed “the most beautiful sailing ship in the world” and is almost 100 years old, has docked in Phuket and will be open to visitors from November 6-10, greatly adding color to tourism in Phuket.
🛟 The ship stands out with its beautiful three-masted sailing structure. The ship’s frame and carvings are intricately and elegantly designed, perfectly combining classicism and grandeur. It will be open to the public who have registered to visit between November 6-10 before traveling to the city of India.
⛴For the Amerigo Vespucci junk, built in 1930 for training the Italian navy, named after Amerigo Vespucci, one of the greatest Italian explorers and navigators in the 16th century, it is a square sailing ship with 24 sails, a total area of 2,600 square meters, a length of 101 meters, three main masts, 54 meters above sea level, a maximum water depth of 7.30 meters and a displacement of 4,100 tons.
🚢 In the beginning, this ship was used to train the Italian Marines for seafaring. And after that, it was used as a conservation survey ship for more than 30 years. In total, the age of this ship is more than 90 years. This ship is traveling around the world to spread Italian art and culture. It will stop at 15 port cities for interested people to visit. This world tour is considered the first in 20 years.
