Tourism students join Hanuman show in Australia

The Arts and Culture Centre, Sripatum University, Bangkhen, was invited to participate in an arts and culture exchange at Wat Thai Phuttharam, Brisbane, Australia, between 18-26 April 2017, with Ajarn Worachet Singhlo, Director of the Arts and Culture Centre, and Ms. Kotchaphan Khatchachai, an officer of the Arts and Culture Centre, supervising and directing the performance.

The performing arts series that will be used to spread the culture and traditions of Thailand abroad this time include: Set 1: Hanuman capturing Nang Benkai; Set 2: Khon: Phra Ram following the deer; Set 3: Thai Phuan dance; Set 4: Mini Luk Thung band and Thai music performance.
For the actors who participated in this performance, they are students with special abilities in performing arts of Sripatum University. The university has promoted and instilled in the new generation of youth to join the campaign and have the opportunity to experience and learn from real people. They include Ms. Narumon Tolum, a student of the Faculty of Communication Arts, Ms. Chalina Muhamad, Ms. Natchaphan Chanwiriyakit, students of the College of Tourism and Hospitality, and Ms. Suthida Boonrat, a student of the International College.

Asst. Prof. Dr. Jariya Phukayaphon, Vice President of Sripathum University, said that both lecturers and students were excited and honored to be invited by Wat Thai Phuttharam in Brisbane, Australia to join the performance to promote Thai culture. The lecturers and students practiced and were very determined. This is an opportunity for students because the university has promoted and instilled culture in students quite a lot. It often sends students with special abilities in performing arts to compete and gain experience on every stage because it is considered an opportunity for students to learn from real people and gain real experiences, in line with the intention of Dr. Ratchaneeporn Phukayaphon Phukhamarn, President of Sripathum University, who has always focused on promoting and developing students along with volunteering for society and the country.
