Introducing Sripathum University

Sripatum University, one of the oldest and most famous private universities in Thailand, was founded in 1970 by Dr. Suk Phukayaphon under the name “Sripatum College” with the determination to create a quality educational institution to produce graduates with knowledge and ability to serve society. We received the grace of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, the Princess Mother, who bestowed the name “Sripatum” with the meaning “a source of knowledge that blooms like a lotus flower”.

Sripathum College was approved to change its type to a university by the University Council on November 6, 1987 and has been known as “Sripathum University” since then. The university has expanded into various campuses as follows:

• Chonburi Campus was established in 1987 to respond to the needs of people in the Eastern Region and support the current Eastern Seaboard and East Economic Corridor (EEC) policies.
• Khon Kaen Campus was established in 2013 to provide higher education services to people in the Northeastern region and to support the expansion of business in the ASEAN region.

The main goal of the university is to develop students to become graduates with quality and morality to be an important force for the industrial business sector to create added value for the Thai economy. Currently, Sripatum University offers 10 faculties, 5 colleges, 36 bachelor’s degree programs, 10 master’s degree programs, and 8 doctoral degree programs, producing more than 120,000 graduates and currently has more than 25,000 students.
