“Education builds people, people build the nation” is the philosophy that Dr. Suk Phukyaphon, who saw the importance of education, initiated and established Sripathum University with dedication and dedication from his work experience and self-study, and accumulated everything that came into his life without giving up.

From the strong beginning and good intentions that came from the dedication of Dr. Suk Pukkhayaphorn, the founder, which has been continuously carried on for 50 years, Sripatum University has grown beautifully in terms of academics, campus expansion, and more than 200,000 graduates who have been recognized in various circles. The university continues to develop without stopping to become a leading university for new generations in every era in order to create and develop quality human resources for society and the country to continue to progress.

January 12, 1916
Dr. Suk Phukkayakorn was born on Friday, January 12, 1916 at Ban Rim Nam, Khlong Sip Subdistrict, Nong Chok District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province. He was the fifth child of Mr. Phukkayakorn and Mrs. Rang Phukkayakorn. When young, he studied at Wat Saen Kasem until he finished Prathom 4 in 1927. He then was ordained as a novice for 30 days. After disrobing, he returned to help his parents with their business.

1932 – 1953
1932, separated to do business by himself, growing steadily from the beginning of rowing a boat to sell goods, buying and selling groceries, buying and selling rice until buying a rice mill to run by himself in 1947. It took time to establish himself in this early period from 1932 – 1947, totaling more than 15 years.

He started his construction contracting career by joining his friends to establish the Songserm Satharat Company in Pratunam area. The business gradually grew. Throughout his life, Dr. Suk’s experience was self-employment and self-study. Everything that happened in his life was a lesson. He never gave up. His motto that those close to him heard was that “Education is life and life is action.”

The government opened up opportunities for the private sector to organize vocational education. Dr. Sukh Phukayaphon started to establish vocational education institutes, which have now expanded to many places, including the Thai Business Administration and Commerce School, Thai Ayothaya Business Administration School, Phatthanawit School, Thaksin Business Administration School, Thai Bencha Business Administration School Chonburi, Kulsiri Technology and Business Administration School, Chiang Rai Polytechnic School, Rungroj Suksa School, Siriwattana Business Administration and Commerce School, and Sukrit School.

It was the year that the government had a policy to allow the private sector to participate in easing the burden of higher education. Dr. Suk Phukyaphon started the establishment of Sripathum College, receiving the grace of Her Royal Highness Princess Srinagarindra, who bestowed the name of the college and proceeded to open the first school building on February 14, 1972.

1987
Dr. Suk Phukayaphon tried to take care of the operations of this college by finding qualified and experienced people to manage and be teachers and was determined to develop without giving up until the University Council changed the type from a college to a university in 1987. He therefore requested permission to open another Chonburi campus in 1987.
