Equal pay is not just a promise on paper. At Sripatum University, HR tracks average pay for women and men, the annual staff survey records sex next to pay fairness, and every raise follows one rulebook for everyone.

Sripatum University (SPU) treats pay equity as something to check, not assume. Its Policy to Promote and Support Equality of Personnel requires that evaluation and salary step increases carry no unfair discrimination on grounds of sex, age, origin, religion, health or personal status. Annual raises for every category of staff then follow a single merit rulebook, the Criteria and Procedures for Merit Consideration (Announcement 005/2568). Under it, each raise is a percentage of current salary decided by performance evaluation, not by who the employee is.
University executives, working through the Office of Human Resources, measure and monitor average salaries and compensation for women and men using staff records held in SPU’s management information system (SCMS). The comparison is reviewed regularly to make sure that no bias or discrepancy based on sex enters pay decisions.
To see whether this works in practice, the Office of Human Resources also runs an annual staff opinion survey on SPU Smart Form, sent to all academic and support staff. The questionnaire records each respondent’s sex together with their views on:
- whether total pay is worth the work;
- whether wages and overtime are paid correctly;
- whether last year’s raise and promotion were fair;
- whether income is enough to live on.
HR staff analyse the responses, report to the HR Director and propose the findings to the President, so they feed directly into HR policy. Formal annual appraisals, recorded and linked to salary adjustments, give the process a documented base.
Recording sex next to pay outcomes lets SPU compare how women and men experience pay and raises each year.
Linking sex-disaggregated pay data and feedback with performance-based raises lets SPU spot early any sign that women and men experience pay differently, and act on it. This supports decent work and the closing of gender wage gaps, in line with the people pillar of SPU’s Alpha Ready Roadmap. Recognition follows the same principle: in January 2026 SPU honoured outstanding academic and support staff, both women and men, for their performance. SPU continues to refine how these results are analysed and shared, so that fair pay stays visible to every member of staff.
At SPU, equal pay for work of equal value is something the university checks every year, through its pay records, the voices of its staff and the rules behind every raise.
