Sripatum University turns hands-on engineering showcases and national partnerships for women into a clear message: technical fields are for everyone. Women belong in them, and SPU is building the pathways.

Women are still a minority in engineering, rail systems and AI-driven technology in Thailand. Sripatum University (SPU) works to close that gap rather than accept it. Under its Alpha Ready Roadmap, SPU combines outreach that lets young people experience engineering first-hand with partnerships that open wider pathways into STEM.
In March 2026 the Faculty of Engineering hosted SPU Engineering Camp 2026 for secondary and vocational students from across Thailand. Girls and boys worked side by side at robotics, surveying, structural-model and CNC stations, discovering that engineering is something they can do. Earlier, in August 2025, the Rail Systems Engineering programme brought its award-winning RedLine simulation game to Suksapan Ed-Fest 2025, with the stated aim of promoting women’s roles in engineering.
Collaboration multiplies this effect. SPU ran New Generation Railway Camp 2026 together with the State Railway of Thailand, the SRT Red Line operator, the Railway Engineering School, the Railway Training Institute and the Thai Railway Transport Engineering Association. Young women and men visited the Red Line operations centre and practised track and train-control work. In September 2025 SPU also partnered with the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development (MSDHS), the Federation of Business and Professional Women’s Associations of Thailand and the ASEAN Women Entrepreneurs Network – Thailand. Together they promoted women’s role in entering AI and STEM learning, with SPU faculty and student mentors guiding participants hands-on.
Talent has no gender.
SPU believes talent has no gender. By putting real engineering tools in young hands and joining forces with national women’s networks, SPU is making technical fields visible, welcoming and attainable for women.
