Access to basic services is where the road out of poverty begins. A health check, clean water, a safe light at night: many take them for granted, while others go without. Community service is a core mission of every SPU faculty, so the university brings its own people and resources directly to the neighbourhoods that need them.

On 10 January 2026, SPU set up at the Bang Bua public housing sports ground for “Sripatum Delivers Happiness to the Community #2”. Families received free health checks and haircuts, while children and parents learned waste sorting through hands-on games that build everyday hygiene habits. The day was run by the Wellness Center with the Faculties of Business Administration, Entrepreneurship and Liberal Arts, the College of Logistics and Supply Chain, and the Student Development and Community Relations Centre.
Earlier, at SPU Giving Day 2025 (31 October 2025), Faculty of Engineering students and lecturers presented two innovations designed for community needs: solar-powered smart lighting for the Bang Bua Saphan Mai 1 community, to make shared spaces safer after dark, and a pipe-joint design that reduces water loss in filtration systems.
Knowledge sharing extends to nutrition as well. In June 2026, SPU’s Human Resources Office and professional dietitians from the Thai Health Network ran a hands-on workshop on balanced eating, reading health-check results and preventing non-communicable diseases.
When floods struck southern Thailand in November 2025, SPU staff and students sent blankets, towel sets, charged power banks, food and drinking water to the shelter at Prince of Songkla University. In August 2025, SPU and its partners delivered emergency medical kits to the Border Patrol Police, supporting people in remote border areas.
Health, hygiene, water and energy should not be privileges.
SPU will keep turning its expertise into practical, free services alongside its neighbours, so that more families can live safer and healthier lives. Community groups and partners who want to bring these services to their own neighbourhood are warmly invited to work with us.
