มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมได้นำนโยบายการจัดการขยะภายใต้การดูแลของสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่มาปฏิบัติอย่างเป็นระบบ โดยมีการวัดปริมาณขยะทั้งหมด แยกประเภทขยะที่ต้องฝังกลบและขยะที่สามารถรีไซเคิลได้ เพื่อรายงานผลอย่างโปร่งใสและขับเคลื่อนการดำเนินงานด้วยข้อมูลจริง โครงการธนาคารขยะของ SPU ส่งเสริมการคัดแยกและการหมุนเวียนทรัพยากร โดยเปิดโอกาสให้นักศึกษา บุคลากร และชุมชนมีส่วนร่วม นโยบายดังกล่าวมีการทบทวนเป็นระยะให้สอดคล้องกับมาตรฐานสิ่งแวดล้อมและเป้าหมายความยั่งยืนระดับโลก สะท้อนบทบาทผู้นำของ SPU ในการใช้ทรัพยากรอย่างรับผิดชอบและสร้างวัฒนธรรมสีเขียวในมหาวิทยาลัย
