มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) ได้ดำเนินการจัดทำ แผนประจำปีในระดับมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อปรับปรุงอาคารและสถานที่เดิมให้มีประสิทธิภาพด้านพลังงานสูงขึ้น แผนดังกล่าวซึ่งระบุไว้ในรายงานการจัดการพลังงานของมหาวิทยาลัย (Energy Management Report) ได้กำหนดแนวทางในการระบุจุดสูญเสียพลังงานและดำเนินการปรับปรุงแก้ไขอย่างเป็นระบบในแต่ละปี มาตรการสำคัญประกอบด้วย การปรับปรุงระบบปรับอากาศให้มีประสิทธิภาพ การเปลี่ยนหลอดไฟฟลูออเรสเซนต์เป็นหลอด LED การยกระดับเทคโนโลยีด้านประสิทธิภาพพลังงานของอาคาร และการนำแนวปฏิบัติด้านการจัดการพลังงานที่ทันสมัยมาใช้
