In a bold move to reaffirm its position as a university committed to positive global impact, Sripatum University (SPU) has officially signed the “Declaration of Intent for Sustainable Development” alongside other leading institutions and national bodies. This signing marks SPU’s strategic alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), emphasizing particularly on SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Representing the university, Assistant Professor Dr. Wirat Lertpaitoonpan, Vice President of SPU, joined the high-profile event held by the UN, the Ministry of Higher Education, and the Council of University Presidents of Thailand. ม.ศรีปทุม ลงนามประกาศเจตนารมณ์เพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน ขับเคลื่อนเป้าหมาย SDGs สู่ระดับโลก
SPU ร่วมมือภาครัฐ-องค์กรโลก เดินหน้าสู่การเป็นมหาวิทยาลัยต้นแบบด้านความยั่งยืนและการพัฒนาเพื่อสังคม
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม โดย ผู้ช่วยศาสตราจารย์ ดร.วิรัช เลิศไพฑูรย์พันธ์ รองอธิการบดี ได้ร่วมพิธีลงนาม “ประกาศเจตนารมณ์เพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน” พร้อมด้วยหน่วยงานภาครัฐและองค์การสหประชาชาติ เพื่อสนับสนุนการบรรลุเป้าหมายการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน (Sustainable Development Goals – SDGs) โดยมุ่งเน้นเฉพาะอย่างยิ่งในด้าน SDG ข้อ 4 (การศึกษาที่มีคุณภาพ) และ ข้อ 17 (ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนาอย่างยั่งยืน)
การลงนามในครั้งนี้ไม่ใช่เพียงพิธีการ แต่คือจุดเริ่มต้นของการขับเคลื่อนเชิงกลยุทธ์ของมหาวิทยาลัย เพื่อพัฒนาหลักสูตร การวิจัย และนโยบายภายในให้อิงกับหลัก SDGs อย่างเป็นรูปธรรม พร้อมทั้งเผยแพร่และแสดงผลความก้าวหน้าให้สาธารณชนได้รับทราบอย่างต่อเนื่อง
การที่ SPU เข้าร่วมลงนามในครั้งนี้ คือการแสดงจุดยืนของมหาวิทยาลัยในการเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการเปลี่ยนแปลงระดับโลก เพื่อพัฒนาคน พัฒนาสังคม และพัฒนาโลกไปพร้อมกัน เรามุ่งหวังให้ SPU เป็นแบบอย่างของมหาวิทยาลัยแห่งความยั่งยืนในศตวรรษที่ 2
