At Sripatum University, raising a concern about unfair treatment is a right, not a risk. A council-approved regulation, a 2022 policy review and an anonymous reporting channel keep every voice safe.

Gender equality only works when people feel safe to name discrimination when they see it. Sripatum University (SPU) protects students and staff who report discrimination from academic or employment disadvantage through the SPU Regulation on Investigation of Personnel (2009), approved by the University Council. The regulation guarantees impartial investigation committees, the right to object to biased members, attention to witness safety, and clear appeal routes. In 2022 a Rector-appointed committee reviewed the framework, and SPU issued Announcement No. 078/2565 on Investigation and Protection of Reporters’ Rights. This sits alongside SPU’s Equality Policies for students and staff, which prohibit unfair treatment based on gender, disability, age or personal status.
The policy also shapes daily practice. Students and staff can raise concerns through SPU Care, an online channel where reports can be made without revealing their identity and are tracked through to resolution. They can also use the Rector’s direct line or seek confidential support from the Wellness Center. Appeals involving employment are heard by a Work Protection Committee that includes external experts, which adds independence to the process. Student feedback is a standing agenda item at executive meetings. SPU also creates spaces for open dialogue, such as the “Election 69” education policy forum in January 2026, where youth representatives spoke about safe learning, and the Wellness Center’s “Power to Live” campaign, which encourages students to listen to and support each other.
The result is a campus culture where reporting discrimination leads to fair review, not penalty. This supports women and gender-diverse people in particular, who are most often affected by unfair treatment. It also reflects the Good Governance and Student Success goals of SPU’s Alpha Ready Roadmap. The next step is to make protection against retaliation more visible on SPU Care and in student and staff handbooks.
Reporting discrimination leads to fair review, not penalty.
At SPU, speaking up is protected. A fair process, safe channels and independent oversight mean no one should lose a grade or a job for standing up against discrimination.
