Women Supporting Women: SPU’s Mentoring Network Empowers Female Students Through Health, Confidence and Peer Leadership

From first-day screenings to peer-led circles, Sripatum University turns care into capability, so that every female student knows where to turn and how to lift others up.

The Wellness Counseling Center under Student Affairs coordinates a university-wide Women’s Mentoring Scheme. It pairs professional counselors and nurses with student peer mentors from the Love Your Life Club. Together they create everyday pathways for female students to seek confidential advice on mental well-being, sexual and reproductive health, self-worth and help-seeking. The scheme reflects the people-centred goals of SPU’s Alpha Ready Reinventing Roadmap.

Throughout academic year 2025/26, the network went to where students are. At FRESHY DAY 2569 on 10 July 2026, SPU and the Rainbow Sky Association of Thailand offered new students free, stigma-free health consultations and screening. During the year, the Center mentored students from several cohorts on their health rights and introduced them to its counseling space. Student mentors joined Power to Live on World Suicide Prevention Day (5 September 2025) with national mental-health partners. They also took part in the Soul Connect Fest workshop with ThaiHealth (4 December 2025) and brought peer-support skills back to campus. In the School of Digital Media, senior students led peer-to-peer workshops that helped first-year students settle in.

The result is a culture where women help women. Female students gain the confidence to make informed choices about their bodies and minds, to speak up early, and to support friends in difficulty. That sense of belonging helps them stay in their studies and grow as leaders, which puts gender equality, women’s empowerment and good health into practice.

At SPU, mentoring is not a one-off event but a living network.

By investing in women’s well-being and peer leadership, SPU commits to a campus where every female student can thrive and pass that strength on.

Students working in small groups around tables with senior student mentors during the Peer-to-Peer Workshopม.
