Sripatum University (SPU) believes that a university library should serve the whole city, not only those enrolled in it. This conviction is written into SPU’s Lifelong Learning Policy (Announcement 99/2565), which commits the university to make educational resources, explicitly including library services, accessible to everyone, whether SPU students and staff or learners from outside the university. The SPU Library turns that commitment into daily practice under its vision “Knowledge for Everyone”.
At the centre of this work is the Sripatum University Institutional Repository (SPU-IR), available at dspace.spu.ac.th. Throughout the 2025–2026 academic year the SPU Library has kept SPU-IR open online to any member of the public, free of charge and not limited to university members. The repository brings together the university’s heritage collections of scholarship: textbooks and teaching materials, theses and independent studies, research reports and journal articles written by SPU faculty, students and researchers. Alongside SPU-IR, the library’s e-resources page guides public users to trusted open-access e-books, e-theses and e-journals, making high-quality information reachable from home, school or workplace, anywhere and anytime. The library also works through the EDS-THAIPUL private university library network to share resources across institutions.
A university library should serve the whole city, not only those enrolled in it.
The benefit reaches far beyond campus. Secondary school students preparing projects, teachers updating lessons, entrepreneurs exploring ideas and community researchers can all draw on the same academic knowledge that SPU’s own students use, without cost barriers. Free access to university publications works as an inclusive digital public space for learning. It strengthens heritage education, widens public access to knowledge in a growing city and supports sustainable urbanization built on informed, capable citizens. The approach also reflects SPU’s Alpha Ready Roadmap, in which the university positions itself as a lifelong learning hub for people of all ages. Building on this foundation, the SPU Library continues to expand its open collections and its services to the community.
Sripatum University keeps the knowledge it creates open to everyone. By making its library collections freely available to the public, SPU turns its library into a shared learning resource for the community and the city.

ความรู้เพื่อทุกคน: สำนักหอสมุด ม.ศรีปทุม เปิดคลังผลงานวิชาการให้ประชาชนเข้าถึงฟรีทางออนไลน์
วิทยานิพนธ์ ตำรา และงานวิจัยของมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม พร้อมให้ผู้เรียนทุกคนในเมืองเข้าถึงได้ในคลิกเดียว ไม่มีค่าใช้จ่าย มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมเชื่อว่าห้องสมุดของมหาวิทยาลัยควรเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ของทั้งเมือง ไม่ใช่เฉพาะผู้ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนเท่านั้น แนวคิดนี้กำหนดไว้ในนโยบายการส่งเสริม สนับสนุนการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิต (ปก.มศป.99/2565) นโยบายนี้ให้มหาวิทยาลัยจัดบริการวิชาการและทรัพยากรทางการศึกษาที่ทุกคนเข้าถึงได้ รวมถึงบริการสำนักหอสมุด ทั้งบุคลากร นักศึกษา และบุคคลภายนอก สำนักหอสมุดนำนโยบายนี้มาปฏิบัติจริงภายใต้วิสัยทัศน์ “ความรู้เพื่อทุกคน”
หัวใจของงานนี้คือคลังสารสนเทศสถาบัน SPU-IR (Sripatum University Institutional Repository) ที่ dspace.spu.ac.th ตลอดปีการศึกษา 2568 สำนักหอสมุดเปิด SPU-IR ให้บุคคลทั่วไปเข้าถึงทางออนไลน์ได้ฟรี โดยไม่จำกัดเฉพาะบุคลากรหรือนักศึกษา คลังนี้รวบรวมผลงานวิชาการของคณาจารย์ นักศึกษา และนักวิจัย ได้แก่ ตำรา เอกสารประกอบการสอน วิทยานิพนธ์ การค้นคว้าอิสระ รายงานวิจัย และบทความวิชาการ
นอกจากนี้ หน้าทรัพยากรอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ของห้องสมุดยังแนะนำแหล่ง e-Book, e-Thesis และ e-Journal แบบ Open Access ที่เชื่อถือได้ ผู้ใช้จึงเข้าถึงสารสนเทศคุณภาพได้จากบ้าน โรงเรียน หรือที่ทำงาน ทุกที่ ทุกเวลา สำนักหอสมุดยังร่วมแบ่งปันทรัพยากรผ่านเครือข่ายห้องสมุดสถาบันอุดมศึกษาเอกชน EDS-THAIPUL
ห้องสมุดของมหาวิทยาลัยควรเป็นแหล่งเรียนรู้ของทั้งเมือง ไม่ใช่เฉพาะผู้ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนเท่านั้น
ประโยชน์ที่เกิดขึ้นขยายไปไกลกว่ารั้วมหาวิทยาลัย นักเรียนที่ทำโครงงาน ครูที่ปรับปรุงบทเรียน ผู้ประกอบการที่หาไอเดีย และนักวิจัยชุมชน สามารถใช้องค์ความรู้ชุดเดียวกับนักศึกษา SPU ได้โดยไม่มีอุปสรรคด้านค่าใช้จ่าย การเปิดคลังผลงานวิชาการจึงเป็นพื้นที่เรียนรู้สาธารณะดิจิทัลที่เปิดกว้างสำหรับทุกคน ช่วยให้คนในเมืองเข้าถึงความรู้ได้มากขึ้น และสนับสนุนการพัฒนาเมืองอย่างยั่งยืนบนพื้นฐานของพลเมืองที่มีความรู้ แนวทางนี้สอดคล้องกับแผน Alpha Ready Roadmap ของมหาวิทยาลัย ที่วางบทบาทให้มหาวิทยาลัยเป็นศูนย์กลางการเรียนรู้ตลอดชีวิตของคนทุกช่วงวัย
