Beyond Boundaries: SPU Empowers Students in Da Nang with Future-Ready Global Skills

Sripatum University Expands International Horizons, Equipping Students with Leadership and Cross-Border Industry Insights at FPT University in Vietnam

Learning in the modern era goes beyond traditional classroom walls. Gaining new perspectives and engaging in hands-on experiences within an international environment are essential to nurturing innovative leaders for the 21st century.

From September 24 to 27, 2025, the Office of International Relations at Sripatum University organized the international study program “Global Perspectives, Personal Growth: A Vietnam Experience in Da Nang with FPT University” at FPT University, Da Nang Campus, Vietnam. A delegation of 22 students from both Bangkhen and Khon Kaen campuses, representing diverse faculties, alongside 3 faculty and staff members, participated in this cross-cultural growth experience.

Throughout the 4-day program, students participated in interactive workshops focused on leadership and essential soft skills. Providing career-oriented training activities aligns directly with SDG 4: Quality Education, specifically SDG 4.3 Lifelong learning measures and SDG 4.3.3 Vocational training events (lifelong learning), enhancing key skills such as communication, teamwork, and creative problem-solving.

Beyond academic sessions, participants gained firsthand exposure to leading enterprises, including FPT Information System (FPT IS) to learn about digital technology innovation, and GO! Da Nang by Central Retail to understand international retail management. This experiential learning through industry exposure supports SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, under SDG 8.4 Proportion of students taking work placements and SDG 8.4.1 Proportion of students with work placements, preparing students for the evolving global job market.

Furthermore, building cross-border institutional synergy and hosting cultural exchanges with Vietnamese peers actively drives SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, specifically SDG 17.2 Relationships to support the goals and SDG 17.2.4 Collaboration for SDG best practice, strengthening sustainable academic and cultural networks.

This trip not only enhanced students’ English communication confidence and cultural adaptability, but also served as a milestone in developing global-minded professionals ready to drive positive societal impact.
