Sripatum University and University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City Join Forces in Practical Mobility Program to Enhance Hospitality Skills and Cultural Exchange across Bangkok and Ayutthaya
The Office of International Relations and the College of Aviation, Tourism and Hospitality at Sripatum University (SPU) hosted the “Thailand Tourism & Cultural Immersion Week with SPU” from March 16 to 22, 2026, at Sripatum University, Bangkhen Campus. The program welcomed 20 students and 2 instructors from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam, fostering cross-cultural learning and international professional development.
Throughout the 7-day program, participants engaged in intensive practical workshops covering the Thai tourism industry, sustainable tourism, English for hospitality, service psychology, and Thai culture, including mocktail creation, traditional Thai dance, Thai dessert making, and introductory Thai language.
A highlight of the program was the immersive student outings. In Bangkok, participants visited the Dusit Central Park, Wat Ratchabophit Sathitmahasimaram, and Chatuchak Weekend Market. In Ayutthaya, students explored historic sites including Wat Chaiwatthanaram while wearing traditional Thai attire, and visited Wat Niwet Thammaprawat, deeply impressing the participants and creating lasting friendships between Thai and Vietnamese students.
This initiative directly aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals, specifically Goal 4: Quality Education under SDG 4.3 Lifelong learning measures through SDG 4.3.2 Public events (lifelong learning) and SDG 4.3.3 Vocational training events (lifelong learning) by offering accessible short-term vocational workshops. Furthermore, it advances Goal 17: Partnerships for the Goals under SDG 17.2 Relationships to support the goals through SDG 17.2.4 Collaboration for SDG best practice by strengthening international academic partnerships to share educational expertise.
This successful collaboration highlights SPU’s commitment to building global educational networks, empowering future leaders in the hospitality industry, and fostering sustainable lifelong learning opportunities.
