An exhibitor explains a BIM water-pipe design to visitors at the SPU Engineering exhibit, SPU Giving Day 2025Sripatum University (SPU) reports its progress on SDG 6 openly every year, because water stewardship only earns trust when others can check it. This report covers the 2025/26 academic year. Under the Alpha Ready Roadmap and the university’s Energy and Environment Conservation Policy (Announcement 100/2565), the Office of Buildings and Facilities runs water as a system. Each drop is measured, treated and, wherever possible, used twice.

Measuring, treating and protecting water on campus.

  • Metering: SPU meters all mains water across the whole university and reviews the records to find high-use points and leaks.
  • Wastewater treatment: Every building has its own treatment unit. Canteens use grease traps, and aeration and routine testing ensure that treated water meets national discharge standards before it reaches the city drains.
  • Pollution prevention: Hazardous and chemical waste is collected separately, so it cannot enter the water system, even after an accident.
  • Free drinking water: Students, staff and visitors refill bottles for free at RO-filtered water stations. The water is tested regularly, and the stations cut single-use plastic.
  • Water-conscious buildings and grounds: Pressure-reducing valves, sensor taps and low-flow fixtures are part of procurement. Automatic sprinklers and drought-tolerant planting keep the green campus alive with less water.

Reuse, awareness and action beyond campus.

  • Reuse: Under SPU’s water-reuse and water-saving measures, rainwater is harvested and treated water is reused to irrigate trees and clean outdoor areas, which reduces demand on the city supply.
  • Awareness on campus: At the Club Fair (30–31 October 2025), students joined talks on sustainable resource use and responsible water use.
  • Engineering for water security: At SPU Giving Day (31 October 2025), the School of Engineering exhibited a BIM-based pipe-joint design that cuts water loss in treatment-plant supply systems, offered as a model for communities.
  • Learning from the city’s water landscape: In ARC363 Water, Landscape and Urban Design, architecture students studied Benjakitti Forest Park’s wetland and flood-retention design (23 September 2025).
  • Restoring a watershed: Student leaders from the College of Aviation, Tourism and Hospitality and the Rotaract Club of SPU joined the Royal Thai Army’s Civil Affairs Department in Lop Buri (28–30 January 2026). They built check dams and planted seedlings to restore a headwater forest, putting the King’s philosophy of water management into practice.
  • Supporting public sanitation: Engineering staff also worked with industry on sludge-suction vehicles used for public sanitation (from May 2026).

Together, these strands make water care a daily routine rather than a one-off project. Every measure has a responsible office, a regular check and a public record. Next year SPU aims to:

  • add building-level meters so that savings can be tracked more precisely
  • widen reuse for irrigation
  • bring water-loss and check-dam know-how to more communities around its campuses

Every drop measured, every drop respected, and every drop shared with the community.

At Sripatum University, reporting on SDG 6 is a promise kept in public. Each year we show how we used water more wisely, kept it clean and helped others protect theirs, so that clean water and sanitation remain within reach for campus and community alike.

SPU architecture students on a field study at Benjakitti Forest Parkมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) เผยแพร่ความก้าวหน้าตาม SDG 6 ต่อสาธารณะทุกปี เพราะการดูแลน้ำจะน่าเชื่อถือเมื่อผู้อื่นตรวจสอบได้ รายงานนี้ครอบคลุมปีการศึกษา 2568/69 (1 ส.
