Every battery, chemical bottle and broken device has a safe path out of campus. Sripatum University turns its hazardous waste policy into daily routines and shares them with the community around it, protecting people, water and land.
Sripatum University (SPU) treats hazardous waste as a shared responsibility. Under Clause 2 of its Policy on Sustainable Resource Procurement and Waste Management, every campus must separate and collect hazardous materials properly and send them to facilities with appropriate disposal standards. The aim is to keep chemical, biological and electronic hazards away from people and the environment. The Office of Building and Facilities leads this work under the university’s Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Management System.
On campus, chemicals, electronic waste and laboratory by-products are segregated at source and stored in clearly labelled, secure containers. They are then transferred to certified disposal centres in line with national pollution-control requirements. General waste is sorted at clearly labelled collection points, and daily collection is coordinated with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, which keeps hazardous items out of the municipal stream. Staff and students are trained in safe handling. SPU also takes the practice beyond its gates. At “Sripatum Sends Happiness to the Community #2” in January 2026, university staff ran a waste-sorting game for families from the Bang Bua community and nearby neighbourhoods, building habits of separating waste at home.
The result is a cleaner, safer campus and a more aware neighbourhood. Water systems and land ecosystems are better protected, and the work advances responsible consumption and production. It also reflects the Alpha Ready Roadmap’s commitment to a responsible, well-governed university. Looking ahead, SPU is preparing to appoint a committee on energy, environment and greenhouse gas management to oversee this work. The university will also strengthen hazardous waste tracking and reporting so the policy keeps pace with new laboratory and digital technologies.

มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมกำหนดให้การจัดการขยะอันตรายเป็นความรับผิดชอบร่วมกันของทั้งองค์กร ภายใต้ข้อ 2 ของนโยบายการจัดหาทรัพยากรและการจัดการขยะอย่างยั่งยืน นโยบายข้อนี้กำหนดให้ทุกวิทยาเขตคัดแยกและเก็บรวบรวมขยะอันตรายอย่างถูกต้อง แล้วส่งไปยังสถานที่กำจัดที่ได้มาตรฐาน เพื่อป้องกันอันตรายจากสารเคมี ชีวภาพ และอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ต่อผู้คนและสิ่งแวดล้อม สำนักงานอาคารสถานที่เป็นหน่วยงานหลักในการดำเนินการ ภายใต้ระบบการจัดการความปลอดภัย อาชีวอนามัย และสิ่งแวดล้อมของมหาวิทยาลัย
ในมหาวิทยาลัย สารเคมี ขยะอิเล็กทรอนิกส์ และของเสียจากห้องปฏิบัติการจะถูกคัดแยกตั้งแต่ต้นทาง จัดเก็บในภาชนะปลอดภัยที่ติดป้ายชัดเจน แล้วส่งต่อไปยังศูนย์กำจัดที่ได้รับการรับรองตามข้อกำหนดด้านการควบคุมมลพิษของประเทศ ขยะทั่วไปจะคัดแยกที่จุดทิ้งที่มีป้ายระบุประเภทชัดเจน ส่วนการจัดเก็บรายวันดำเนินการร่วมกับกรุงเทพมหานคร ซึ่งช่วยไม่ให้ขยะอันตรายปะปนไปกับขยะชุมชน บุคลากรและนักศึกษาได้รับการอบรมการจัดการอย่างปลอดภัย
มหาวิทยาลัยยังขยายแนวปฏิบัตินี้สู่ชุมชน ในงาน “ศรีปทุม ส่งสุข สู่ชุมชน #2” เมื่อเดือนมกราคม 2569 บุคลากรของมหาวิทยาลัยจัดกิจกรรม Sorting Game ให้ครอบครัวจากเคหะชุมชนบางบัวและชุมชนใกล้เคียงได้ฝึกคัดแยกขยะ เพื่อนำไปปฏิบัติต่อที่บ้าน
ทุกชิ้นมีเส้นทางออกจากมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างปลอดภัย
ผลที่ได้คือมหาวิทยาลัยที่สะอาดและปลอดภัย ชุมชนรอบข้างตระหนักเรื่องขยะมากขึ้น และแหล่งน้ำกับระบบนิเวศได้รับการปกป้อง งานนี้สะท้อนการบริโภคและการผลิตที่รับผิดชอบ และสอดรับกับแผน Alpha Ready Roadmap ในการบริหารมหาวิทยาลัยอย่างมีธรรมาภิบาล

การกำจัดขยะอันตรายอย่างปลอดภัยเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของการทำงานทุกวันของมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม ทั้งในมหาวิทยาลัยและในชุมชน และเป็นความตั้งใจที่จะดูแลผู้คนและโลกให้ปลอดภัยสำหรับคนรุ่นต่อไป
