SPU Extends Water-Smart Thinking to Its Neighborhoods
Sripatum University (SPU) is taking its commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) beyond campus walls, working with local communities to raise awareness and action on water conservation. With a strong focus on SDG 6: Clean Water and Sanitation, and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, SPU is empowering its surrounding neighborhoods to become active participants in sustainable water management.
The initiative, led by SPU’s Office of Facilities, includes joint campaigns with nearby communities promoting practical water-saving practices—such as using low-water plants, fixing leaks, and tracking usage. Workshops, volunteer programs, and awareness seminars are conducted regularly to educate locals on how small changes can yield long-term impact. These activities fulfill SDG 6.4.1, targeting increased water-use efficiency.
Notably, SPU’s efforts extend into SDG 12.2.1, as the campaign promotes responsible consumption through habit change. By instilling knowledge and building public engagement, SPU nurtures shared responsibility and local capacity-building.
The program also strengthens town-and-gown relations, promoting SDG 11 by building inclusive, sustainable urban partnerships. By offering technical support and monitoring systems, SPU helps communities build more resilient infrastructure and awareness.
SPU’s leadership shows that when education and action align, sustainable living becomes a collective movement—not just an institutional mission.

SPU ส่งต่อแนวคิด “ใช้น้ำอย่างรู้คุณค่า” สู่ชุมชนรอบมหาวิทยาลัย
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) เดินหน้ายกระดับการดำเนินงานด้านความยั่งยืน โดยขยายผลการส่งเสริมการใช้น้ำอย่างประหยัดออกสู่ชุมชนโดยรอบมหาวิทยาลัย ภายใต้แนวทางของ SDG 6: น้ำสะอาดและสุขาภิบาล และ SDG 17: ความร่วมมือเพื่อการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืน โครงการนี้แสดงให้เห็นถึงบทบาทของมหาวิทยาลัยในการเป็นแหล่งความรู้ที่มีส่วนร่วมกับชุมชนอย่างแท้จริง
นำโดยสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่ โครงการดังกล่าวเน้นการรณรงค์ให้ชุมชนใช้น้ำอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพ เช่น การปลูกพืชใช้น้ำน้อย การตรวจสอบระบบน้ำเพื่อป้องกันการรั่วไหล และการบันทึกปริมาณการใช้น้ำ กิจกรรมอบรม อาสาสมัครตรวจสอบน้ำ และการประชาสัมพันธ์ผ่านสื่อท้องถิ่นมีบทบาทสำคัญในสร้างความรู้แก่ประชาชน ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับ SDG 6.4.1
นอกจากนี้ โครงการยังส่งเสริมพฤติกรรมการบริโภคที่ยั่งยืนตาม SDG 12.2.1 โดยการให้ข้อมูลเชิงลึกและสร้างความตระหนักรู้เรื่องการบริโภคทรัพยากรอย่างมีความรับผิดชอบ
SPU ยังเสริมสร้างความสัมพันธ์อันดีระหว่างมหาวิทยาลัยกับชุมชนตาม SDG 11 โดยใช้ความร่วมมือเป็นเครื่องมือหลักในการพัฒนาเมืองอย่างยั่งยืน ทั้งการให้คำปรึกษาด้านเทคนิค การติดตามผล และการส่งเสริมระบบการใช้น้ำในชุมชนให้มีประสิทธิภาพ
จากแนวคิดสู่การลงมือทำ SPU แสดงให้เห็นว่าการพัฒนาที่ยั่งยืนไม่จำกัดอยู่แค่ในรั้วมหาวิทยาลัย แต่สามารถขยายสู่ชุมชน และสร้างแรงขับเคลื่อนร่วมกันอย่างแท้จริง
