Check dams with the Royal Thai Army, capacity building for the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority and free flood-resilience knowledge: Sripatum University brings its people and expertise to Thailand’s water challenges.
Water security depends on every link in the chain, from the forests where streams begin to the utilities that bring clean water to millions of homes. Sripatum University (SPU) sees cooperation with public agencies as part of its role in society. Under the Alpha Ready Roadmap’s “Learn from the Real Experts” approach, this work also gives students and staff real-world experience.
From 28 to 30 January 2026, student leaders from the College of Aviation, Tourism and Hospitality and the Rotaract Club of SPU joined the “Seedling Propagation and Check Dam Construction” project in Lopburi. The project extends His Majesty’s royal-initiative work and was organised by the Royal Thai Army Civil Affairs Department. Working with army personnel, students built bamboo check dams and planted seedlings in the Sab Langka Wildlife Sanctuary to slow run-off and restore headwaters.
In the capital region, Dr. Sorapol Booranakul of the College of Logistics and Supply Chain served as an expert in the Metropolitan Waterworks Authority’s FY2026 staff development programme, held from 24 November to 4 December 2025, strengthening the operational and supply-chain skills behind reliable water services. The Faculty of Engineering also shared a free, public case study from a flood-resilience lecture, explaining smart drainage, porous pavement and early-warning concepts, and pointing readers to the Department of Water Resources.
These partnerships connect upstream ecosystem care with dependable urban water supply and public flood awareness.
On campus, SPU’s Open World of Activities in October 2025 featured student presentations on responsible consumption and talks on the circular economy and conscious water use, so that students carry this mindset into their communities. SPU will keep expanding cooperation with local, provincial, national and international agencies so that its knowledge supports water security where it is needed most.
From a check dam in a forest stream to the skills behind a city’s water supply, Sripatum University is working with government to help Thailand keep water safe, sufficient and resilient.

สร้างฝายร่วมกับกองทัพบก พัฒนาบุคลากรให้การประปานครหลวง และเผยแพร่ความรู้รับมือน้ำท่วมฟรี มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมนำคนและความรู้ไปช่วยแก้โจทย์น้ำของประเทศ
ความมั่นคงด้านน้ำต้องดูแลทั้งระบบ ตั้งแต่ป่าต้นน้ำจนถึงระบบประปาในเมือง มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) จึงร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานภาครัฐในหลายมิติ ทั้งงานภาคสนาม การพัฒนาบุคลากร และการเผยแพร่ความรู้
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมถือว่าการร่วมมือกับภาครัฐเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของบทบาทต่อสังคม ขณะเดียวกันก็เป็นโอกาสให้นักศึกษาและบุคลากร “เรียนกับตัวจริง ประสบการณ์จริง” ตามแผน Alpha Ready Roadmap
ระหว่างวันที่ 28–30 มกราคม 2569 ผู้นำนักศึกษาจากสโมสรนักศึกษาวิทยาลัยการบิน การท่องเที่ยวและการบริการ และ Rotaract Club of SPU เข้าร่วม “โครงการเพาะพันธุ์กล้าไม้ และการสร้างฝายชะลอน้ำ” ซึ่งเป็นการขยายผลโครงการอันเนื่องมาจากพระราชดำริ จัดโดยกรมกิจการพลเรือนทหารบก ณ จังหวัดลพบุรี นักศึกษาร่วมกับกำลังพลมัดโครงไม้ไผ่ สร้างฝายชะลอน้ำ และปลูกกล้าไม้ในเขตรักษาพันธุ์สัตว์ป่าซับลังกา เพื่อฟื้นฟูแหล่งต้นน้ำ
ในเขตเมืองหลวง ดร.สรพล บูรณกูล อาจารย์วิทยาลัยโลจิสติกส์และซัพพลายเชน ร่วมเป็นผู้เชี่ยวชาญในโครงการพัฒนาบุคลากรของการประปานครหลวง ประจำปีงบประมาณ 2569 ระหว่างวันที่ 24 พฤศจิกายน – 4 ธันวาคม 2568 หลักสูตรครอบคลุมทั้งกลุ่มวิชาชีพหลักและกลุ่มงานเทคนิค เพื่อยกระดับการปฏิบัติงานและการบริหารซัพพลายเชนที่อยู่เบื้องหลังบริการน้ำประปา
คณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ยังเผยแพร่บทความ Case Study “พลิกวิกฤตน้ำท่วมสู่เมืองน่าอยู่” จากเวทีบรรยายให้ประชาชนอ่านได้ฟรี อธิบายแนวคิดระบบระบายน้ำอัจฉริยะ ถนนซึมน้ำ และการพยากรณ์และเตือนภัยน้ำท่วม พร้อมแนะนำแหล่งข้อมูลของกรมทรัพยากรน้ำ
ความร่วมมือเหล่านี้เชื่อมการดูแลระบบนิเวศต้นน้ำ เข้ากับบริการน้ำประปาที่มั่นคงในเมืองและความรู้เรื่องการรับมือน้ำท่วมของประชาชน
ในมหาวิทยาลัยเอง งานเปิดโลกกิจกรรม เมื่อ 30–31 ตุลาคม 2568 มีการนำเสนอของนักศึกษาเรื่องการบริโภคอย่างรับผิดชอบ และเสวนาเรื่องเศรษฐกิจหมุนเวียนและการใช้น้ำอย่างรู้คุณค่า เพื่อให้นักศึกษานำแนวคิดนี้ไปใช้ในชุมชน มหาวิทยาลัยจะขยายความร่วมมือกับหน่วยงานรัฐทุกระดับต่อไป
จากฝายในลำธารต้นน้ำ ถึงทักษะของคนที่ดูแลน้ำประปาของเมืองหลวง มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมทำงานร่วมกับภาครัฐ เพื่อให้ประเทศไทยมีน้ำที่ปลอดภัย เพียงพอ และพร้อมรับมือทุกสถานการณ์
