Sripatum University Opens Its Doors to Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue: Government, Civil Society and the UN Shaping the SDGs Together

From an election-year forum on education to UN and SDSN platforms, SPU brings policymakers, NGOs, business and young people to one table to turn sustainable development commitments into shared action.

SDSN Thailand Public Forum 2025 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reviewing a decade of the SDGsSustainable development cannot be delivered by one sector alone. Sripatum University (SPU) acts on this as a co-creation platform that connects government, civil society, business, international partners and young people. Throughout the 2025/26 academic year, SPU both convened and joined cross-sectoral dialogue on education equity, women’s economic empowerment, responsible investment and the future of global cooperation.

On campus, SPU’s Faculty of Law co-hosted the “Election 69” forum with the Equitable Education Fund, the Children and Youth Council of Thailand, Thai PBS and teacher networks. Consumer advocates, education researchers, party representatives, teachers and students debated how national education law can deliver free, safe and equitable learning. SPU also brought the Department of Women’s Affairs and Family Development together with women entrepreneur networks to build AI skills for women-led enterprises. It hosted the Social Innovation Foundation to explore how BOI-CSR incentives can channel private investment into community development. The School of Entrepreneurship partnered with Ngee Ann Polytechnic, a keynote speaker with long UN experience and EY Thailand on the Co-Create Sustainability Hack, where Thai and Singaporean students designed solutions for healthy, inclusive and resilient cities. Beyond campus, SPU engineering leaders joined the SDSN Thailand Public Forum at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to review a decade of SDG progress. SPU students also joined UN Thailand’s dialogue on turning the Pact for the Future into action, held to mark eighty years of Thailand–UN relations.

These dialogues turn discussion into practical outcomes. Students gained a direct voice in national and global debates, women entrepreneurs left with tools they can use, and new routes opened for funding community projects. Lessons from each forum flow back into SPU’s teaching, research and community engagement, strengthening the multi-stakeholder partnerships that the SDGs depend on.

Partnership is a working habit, not a slogan.

By convening and joining cross-sectoral dialogue, Sripatum University makes partnership a working habit rather than a slogan. It will keep inviting every sector to the table to co-create solutions for a fairer, more sustainable Thailand.
