At Sripatum University, cutting emissions is a yearly management routine with policy, data, targets and results built in.
Carbon reduction at Sripatum University (SPU) rests on a clear policy foundation. The Energy and Environmental Conservation Policy, revised in 2022, steers the campus toward renewable and clean energy in place of high-carbon fossil fuels. It calls for activities that depend on coal and oil to be reduced or phased out, and for low-carbon materials to be used in construction and renovation. A university committee leads the work, chaired by a Vice President and working with the Office of Buildings and Facilities and the Infrastructure Division. It keeps monthly records of energy use across faculties and units, reports results to university leadership and reviews policy as technology and conditions change.
The process follows a full management cycle. Each year SPU completes the national energy management cycle for designated buildings. The cycle runs from status assessment and target setting through implementation, internal audit and management review, and ends in an Energy Management Report with savings measures and a three-year conservation plan. The rooftop solar system on Building 11 continues to supply clean electricity and lowers the university’s reliance on grid power. In the 2025–26 academic year the cycle also turned into visible work on campus. Ageing fixed-speed air-conditioning on the fourth floor of Building 1 was replaced with smaller, better-zoned units. Classrooms on the sixth and seventh floors of Building 5 moved to ceiling-mounted inverter systems while staying comfortable. Stand-alone solar lighting now lights walkways and shared spaces. The resulting electricity savings are tracked so they can be converted into avoided greenhouse gas emissions.
Students take part as well, and the results reach beyond lower utility bills. Engineering students study smart-building automation, BIM and AI-based energy analytics. In October 2025 they showed their T-SMART BIM IoT and low-cost Building Automation System work to visiting representatives of the Institute of International Education (USA). This process links SPU’s day-to-day operations with Thailand’s carbon-neutral direction and with the Alpha Ready Roadmap’s aim of a smart, sustainable campus. It has recently been strengthened by a dedicated Committee on Energy, Environment and Greenhouse Gas Management. The committee is tasked with compiling the university’s greenhouse gas inventory, publishing an annual report and setting reduction targets in line with national guidelines.
SPU treats carbon as something to measure, manage and reduce every year.
That steady discipline is how the university plans to reach a low-carbon campus and its carbon-neutral 2045 commitment.

การลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกของ SPU เป็นงานบริหารที่ทำต่อเนื่องทุกปี ครบทั้งนโยบาย ข้อมูล เป้าหมาย และผลลัพธ์ มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมนำการจัดการพลังงานตามกฎหมายมาต่อยอดเป็นกระบวนการลดคาร์บอนของทั้งองค์กร ผลที่ได้คือพลังงานสะอาดจากหลังคาโซลาร์ การปรับปรุงอาคารที่จับต้องได้ และการเตรียมพร้อมสู่ความเป็นกลางทางคาร์บอน
มหาวิทยาลัยวางรากฐานไว้ที่นโยบายการอนุรักษ์พลังงานและสิ่งแวดล้อม ฉบับแก้ไข พ.ศ. 2565 นโยบายนี้ส่งเสริมพลังงานหมุนเวียนและพลังงานสะอาดแทนเชื้อเพลิงฟอสซิลที่ปล่อยคาร์บอนสูง ลดหรือยกเลิกกิจกรรมที่พึ่งพาถ่านหินและน้ำมัน และให้ใช้วัสดุคาร์บอนต่ำในงานก่อสร้าง ผู้ขับเคลื่อนงานคือคณะกรรมการที่มีรองอธิการบดีเป็นประธาน ทำงานร่วมกับสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่และกลุ่มงานโครงสร้างพื้นฐาน คณะกรรมการบันทึกการใช้พลังงานของทุกคณะและหน่วยงานเป็นรายเดือน รายงานผู้บริหาร และทบทวนนโยบายให้ทันกับเทคโนโลยี
ทุกปีมหาวิทยาลัยดำเนินการจัดการพลังงานครบวงจรตามกฎกระทรวงสำหรับอาคารควบคุม ตั้งแต่ประเมินสถานภาพ กำหนดเป้าหมายและแผนอนุรักษ์พลังงาน ลงมือดำเนินการ ตรวจติดตาม ไปจนถึงทบทวนและแก้ไขข้อบกพร่อง แล้วจัดทำรายงานการจัดการพลังงานพร้อมแผนมาตรการล่วงหน้า 3 ปี ระบบ Solar Rooftop บนอาคาร 11 ยังคงผลิตไฟฟ้าสะอาดและช่วยลดการพึ่งพาไฟฟ้าจากระบบสายส่ง ในปีการศึกษา 2568 กระบวนการนี้ยังส่งผลเป็นงานจริงอีกหลายด้าน ได้แก่
- อาคาร 1 ชั้น 4: เปลี่ยนเครื่องปรับอากาศแบบ Fixed Speed ที่ใช้งานมานาน เป็นระบบที่แบ่งโซนได้ดีขึ้นและใช้ขนาดทำความเย็นรวมน้อยลง
- อาคาร 5 ชั้น 6–7: ห้องเรียนเปลี่ยนเป็นระบบอินเวอร์เตอร์แบบแขวนใต้ฝ้า โดยยังคงความสบายของผู้เรียน
- ทั่ววิทยาเขต: ติดตั้งไฟส่องสว่างพลังงานแสงอาทิตย์ตามทางเดินและพื้นที่ส่วนกลาง
ผลประหยัดไฟฟ้าจะถูกติดตามเพื่อคำนวณเป็นปริมาณก๊าซเรือนกระจกที่ลดลง
นักศึกษาก็มีส่วนร่วมด้วย นักศึกษาคณะวิศวกรรมศาสตร์ได้เรียนรู้ระบบอาคารอัจฉริยะ BIM และ AI วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลพลังงาน และเมื่อเดือนตุลาคม 2568 ได้นำเสนอระบบ T-SMART BIM IoT และ SMART Low-Cost BAS แก่ผู้แทน Institute of International Education (IIE) จากสหรัฐอเมริกา กระบวนการนี้เชื่อมการดำเนินงานประจำวันของมหาวิทยาลัยเข้ากับทิศทางความเป็นกลางทางคาร์บอนของประเทศ และกับแผน Alpha Ready Roadmap ที่มุ่งสู่มหาวิทยาลัยอัจฉริยะและยั่งยืน ล่าสุดมหาวิทยาลัยแต่งตั้งคณะกรรมการจัดการพลังงาน สิ่งแวดล้อม และก๊าซเรือนกระจก มีหน้าที่จัดทำบัญชีการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก รายงานประจำปี และกำหนดเป้าหมายกับมาตรการลดการปล่อยให้สอดคล้องกับแนวทางของประเทศ
SPU ถือว่าคาร์บอนเป็นสิ่งที่ต้องวัด ต้องจัดการ และต้องลดลงทุกปี
