From Classroom Sketches to Global IP: SPU Digital Arts Students Showcase Creative Power at ACF 2026

Sripatum University’s School of Digital Media Transforms Character Design Concepts into High-Value Art Toys and Licensed Products for the Global Creative Industry

Artistic creativity extends far beyond digital screens when student ideas evolve into valuable Intellectual Property (IP) that drives economic growth and social innovation. Students from the Digital Arts Program, School of Digital Media at Sripatum University, have demonstrated this transformation by taking classroom character design concepts and building them into complete Art Toys, Gashapon Collections, merchandise, and licensed products ready for the global stage at the Asia Collectibles Festival 2026 (ACF 2026).

The educational framework at Sripatum University emphasizes hands-on experience across every stage of development, including Concept Design, Branding, Packaging, Product Development, Licensing, and Business Model formulation. This practical immersion aligns directly with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, specifically sub-goal SDG 8.4: Proportion of students taking work placements and sub-sub-goal SDG 8.4.1: Proportion of students with work placements, equipping students with career-ready competencies for the modern creative market.

Furthermore, presenting contemporary character design to international audiences supports SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities, under sub-goal SDG 11.2: Support of arts and heritage and sub-sub-goal SDG 11.2.5: Arts and heritage contribution, by fostering artistic expression and cultural stewardship. The participation in international creative platforms such as ACF 2026 also drives SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals, specifically sub-goal SDG 17.2: Relationships to support the goals and sub-sub-goal SDG 17.2.4: Collaboration for SDG best practice, by establishing global industry networks and sharing best practices in creative licensing.

By advancing from “creating beautiful artwork” to “building sustainable commercial IP,” Sripatum University continues to empower students to reach international markets and shape the future of the global creative economy.
