SPU Reuses Water for the Future: Efficient Systems, Sustainable Impact
Sripatum University (SPU) is turning everyday water use into a sustainability opportunity through its forward-thinking Water Reuse Policy, operated under the Office of Facilities. This initiative supports the United Nations’ SDG 6.4.1, which emphasizes improving water-use efficiency across all sectors.
SPU’s holistic approach includes a variety of water-saving innovations: pressure-reducing systems in all buildings, sensor-activated faucets to prevent water waste, and a smart sprinkler system that prioritizes rainwater usage. These technologies ensure that every drop is maximized for value and purpose—especially in tree irrigation across campus.
Rainwater harvesting is a central part of the program. The university collects and stores rainfall for future use, reducing reliance on municipal water supplies. This closed-loop water strategy highlights resource circularity and operational efficiency.
More than just infrastructure, SPU also promotes behavioral change through awareness campaigns that educate students and staff on water conservation. This encourages community-wide participation in sustainability, aligning with both SDG 6 and SDG 12.2.1, which targets responsible natural resource use.

SPU พลิกโฉมการใช้น้ำ: นำน้ำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ เพื่ออนาคตที่ยั่งยืน
มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม (SPU) ขับเคลื่อนนโยบายการนำน้ำกลับมาใช้ใหม่ ภายใต้การดำเนินงานของสำนักงานอาคารสถานที่ โดยมุ่งเน้นการเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพการใช้น้ำในทุกอาคารของมหาวิทยาลัย ซึ่งสอดคล้องกับ SDG 6.4.1 ที่เน้นการใช้น้ำอย่างมีประสิทธิภาพในทุกภาคส่วน
มาตรการที่นำมาใช้ครอบคลุมตั้งแต่การลดแรงดันน้ำในระบบ การติดตั้งก๊อกน้ำแบบเซนเซอร์เพื่อลดการเปิดน้ำทิ้ง ไปจนถึงระบบรดน้ำต้นไม้ด้วยสปริงเกอร์ที่ใช้น้ำฝนที่เก็บไว้ ซึ่งช่วยประหยัดทรัพยากรและเพิ่มประสิทธิภาพในการใช้น้ำ
