From first-year lecturers to senior professors, Sripatum University guarantees the freedom to choose what to study, what to teach and what to say in public, because open inquiry builds trusted, accountable institutions.
Academic freedom sits at the heart of Sripatum University’s governance. Through Announcement 063/2566 on Supporting Academic Freedom, SPU commits to protecting the freedom of academic research and expression at every level. Academic staff and researchers may choose their own lines of inquiry, voice expert opinions, and share findings with the public without obstruction. This principle is anchored in SPU’s long-standing Code of Professional Ethics for Faculty, which asks every instructor to work with freedom, responsibility and integrity, free from undue influence, and to listen to students’ ideas rather than dominate them. The result is a university culture where freedom of thought and freedom of expression extend to both the laboratory and the classroom.
The policy is visible in everyday academic life. Internal research grants are open to every permanent faculty member, and the Center for Research Support and Quality Assurance runs research development sessions, such as the AI-Driven Proposal workshop in June 2026, where lecturers at all career stages develop proposals on topics of their own choosing. The annual SPUCON National and International Conference, held on 30 September 2025, gives faculty and students an open stage for their work. Lecturers also have the freedom to design how they teach: law lecturers ran the Attorney Training Course as a law-firm simulation and took students to the Department of Special Investigation and the Administrative Court; design lecturers led field learning in the Bang Pho creative district; and cruise-service lecturers turned a wellness course into hands-on Thai massage practice.
By protecting intellectual freedom for junior and senior academics equally, SPU strengthens trust in institutions and contributes to just, peaceful and inclusive societies. The policy also supports the Alpha Ready Roadmap goal of nurturing innovative, research-active faculty who create knowledge that benefits society. Reviewed by the Office of Academic Affairs through the annual quality assurance process, the policy will continue to evolve with the academic community.

ตั้งแต่อาจารย์รุ่นใหม่จนถึงอาจารย์อาวุโส มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมให้อิสระในการเลือกสิ่งที่จะศึกษา สิ่งที่จะสอน และสิ่งที่จะพูดต่อสาธารณะ เพราะการแสวงหาความรู้อย่างเปิดกว้างคือรากฐานของสถาบันที่น่าเชื่อถือและตรวจสอบได้ มหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุมประกาศนโยบายสนับสนุนเสรีภาพทางวิชาการ (ปก.มศป.063/2566) เพื่อคุ้มครองเสรีภาพในการวิจัยและการแสดงออกทางวิชาการในทุกระดับ ควบคู่กับจรรยาบรรณวิชาชีพคณาจารย์ที่ยืนยันเสรีภาพในการสอน
เสรีภาพทางวิชาการเป็นหัวใจของธรรมาภิบาลมหาวิทยาลัยศรีปทุม นโยบายฉบับนี้ให้บุคลากรสายวิชาการและนักวิจัยเลือกประเด็นวิจัยได้อย่างอิสระ แสดงความเห็นในฐานะผู้เชี่ยวชาญ และเผยแพร่ผลงานต่อสาธารณะได้โดยไม่ถูกจำกัด หลักการนี้เชื่อมโยงกับประกาศจรรยาบรรณวิชาชีพคณาจารย์ ซึ่งกำหนดให้อาจารย์ปฏิบัติงานด้วยเสรีภาพ ความรับผิดชอบ และความซื่อสัตย์ทางวิชาการ ไม่ถูกครอบงำด้วยอิทธิพลใด ๆ และให้รับฟังโดยไม่ครอบงำความคิดของนักศึกษา
นโยบายสะท้อนอยู่ในการทำงานจริง ทุนวิจัยภายในเปิดกว้างให้อาจารย์ประจำทุกคน และศูนย์ส่งเสริมการวิจัยและการประกันคุณภาพการศึกษาจัดกิจกรรมพัฒนานักวิจัย เช่น โครงการ AI-Driven Proposal เมื่อเดือนมิถุนายน 2569 ที่อาจารย์ทุกระดับได้พัฒนาข้อเสนอโครงการวิจัยในหัวข้อที่ตนเลือกเอง ส่วนเวทีประชุมวิชาการ SPUCON ซึ่งจัดเมื่อ 30 กันยายน 2568 เป็นพื้นที่เปิดให้คณาจารย์และนักศึกษานำเสนอผลงาน
ด้านการสอน อาจารย์มีอิสระในการออกแบบการเรียนรู้ เช่น คณะนิติศาสตร์จัด Attorney Training Course ในรูปแบบสำนักงานกฎหมายจำลอง และพานักศึกษาศึกษาดูงานที่กรมสอบสวนคดีพิเศษและศาลปกครอง คณะการออกแบบฯ พานักศึกษาลงพื้นที่เรียนรู้ย่านสร้างสรรค์บางโพ และสาขาธุรกิจเรือสำราญเปลี่ยนรายวิชาการจัดการสปาให้เป็นการฝึกนวดแผนไทยจริง
นักวิชาการทุกคนตั้งคำถาม ค้นพบ สอน และแบ่งปันความรู้ได้อย่างเสรี การคุ้มครองเสรีภาพทางวิชาการอย่างเท่าเทียมทั้งอาจารย์รุ่นใหม่และอาจารย์อาวุโส ช่วยสร้างความเชื่อมั่นต่อสถาบัน และสนับสนุนสังคมที่สงบสุข ยุติธรรม และมีส่วนร่วม ทั้งยังสอดคล้องกับแผน Alpha Ready Roadmap ที่มุ่งพัฒนาอาจารย์ให้เป็นนักวิจัยและนักสร้างสรรค์ความรู้เพื่อสังคม
นโยบายนี้ได้รับการทบทวนโดยสำนักงานวิชาการผ่านกระบวนการประกันคุณภาพประจำปี เพื่อให้มหาวิทยาลัยเป็นพื้นที่ที่นักวิชาการทุกคนตั้งคำถาม ค้นพบ สอน และแบ่งปันความรู้ได้อย่างเสรี
